A Kitty of Valor
(from Proverbs 31)
A kitty of valor, who can find? Her value is far beyond pearls.
Her husband's heart relies on her and he shall lack no fortune.
She does him good and not evil, all the days of her nine lives.
She seeks mice and catnip, and works with her paws willingly.
She is like the merchant ships, she brings fresh fish from afar.
She arises while it is still night, and gives mice to her kittens and a portion to her humans.
She plans for a catnip field, and buys it. With the fruit of her paws she plants catnip.
She girds her loins in strength, and makes her arms strong.
She knows that her mouse hunting is good. She does not go out at night
She sets her paws to the distaff, and holds the spindle in her paws.
She extends her paws to the poor, and reaches out her paw to the needy.
She fears not for her household because of snow, because her whole household is warmly dressed in fur.
She kneads covers for herself, her fur is shiny and well groomed.
Her husband is known at the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes a catnip toy and sells it, and she delivers her works to the merchant.
Strength and honor are her clothing; she purrs at the future.
She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the lesson of kindness is in her meows.
She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the cat food of idleness.
Her kittens rise and praise her; her husband lauds her.
Many kitties have done worthily, but you surpass them all.
Charm is deceptive and beauty is vain, but a kitty who fears God shall be praised.
Give her of the catnip of her paws, and let her works praise her in the gates.

Ginger Time

Ah yes! My favorite time of the day. It gets a bit hectic around here with 3 of us kitties and a D-O-G. It has taken a while, but after many long months of effort I have finally trained my mommy to have protected Ginger Time each night. at about 8 p.m. I come to the bedroom door and meow for her. She must drop what she is doing and come running. Of course she must come to the bedroom and close the door, effectively locking everyone else out. Then I've got her all to myself. For the next glorious 1/2 hour it is all about me. I get massaged and petted and told how beautiful I am (hey- a girl needs to hear these things). After about a 1/2 hour I must stop because she kisses me and gets my fur all messed up. Then I have to groom myself again! I just love this...like I said, it has been a long process but persistence pays off! I wonder what I should teach her next!

My darling Dback

Today I am very sad. My darling sister, my best frend, has been very sick this past week. I so wanted her to be here for my birthday and she fought so bravely. DB indeed was here yesterday to give me my gifts and spend some time with me. She walked a few steps and we cuddled and we had a celebration in which she took part. We had a chance to tell each other how much it meant that we are sisters. At about 8:00 p.m., she took a turn for the worst and we thought we would lose her then, but she hung on...she did not want to spoil my birthday by dying just then. She was more worried about me than herself. That is just what a good sister she has been to me.

She hung on until 4:20 today (a day after my birthday) and then was carried to the Bridge in the arms of Buster, who went there in April. I know that she has missed him terribly and will be safe and happy with him.

I will not remember this as the year that DB died...I will remember it as the year that she bravely lived to be here for me just one more time. Rest in peace, dear sister...I love you so much.

Today is my birthday!

This year is a bittersweet birthday for me. I got what I really wanted the most, and that is to have my beloved sister, Miss Dback here with me just once more. She is ill with liver failure and is on hospice. Having her here with me this morning is the best gift I could have ever gotten.

I am filled with sadness though, because I know that the chances of her making it through the day are slim. I know that one day when I look back though, I will always remember this as the day that my sister loved me enough to hang on and be here...not as the day she died.

Time to go and sit by her side and cuddle close...I got a new catnip pillow and I want her to use it today.

Thanks to all my friends who have left stars and rosettes and stuck close by to me. You are all pawsome and I love you all.

Look who is having a birthday on July 27th! Ginger Belle will be 7 years old, and in honor of this occasion, baby Manx has written this lovely poem for her:

Ginger Belle! Ginger Belle! Let me sing her famous tale,
She scoots like a jet plane and runs and zips!
To go and find her stash of Q-Tips!
When eating Temptations she can be a hog!
But please don't lick me Mr. Dog!!
Oh Ginger Belle! Oh Ginger Belle!
Your friends and family you never fail!
You are full of love and warm and sweet
All boy kitties fall at your feet!
A Calico that is full of color
You are a kitty that's a little lover!

Thanks, Baby! And- if you read this, please make sure to wish our gal Ginger Belle a SUPER birthday!

How lucky am I? Me-wow, life is good now. I have adopted two of the most darling little furbabies anywhere. Their names are Boudin and Tigger, and they are brothers. I have not been this happy in a long time. We met through the June 07 Adoption Event, where I signed up to be a mentor. WOW! Tayla did a great job with these matches, because these sweet little kitty boys are everything I wanted and then some! I am having the best time getting to know them. I jut know that we will be friends furever. I'm glad that the Adoption Group will continue on, this is a really good thing for dogsters and catsters everywhere!

I am feeling especially lucky because I got TWO little cutie pies, and my sisters each only got ONE. Yippee!

Hey everyone! Did you see me up there dancing the hula? I didn't even know I could do that. Of course, a few more morsels of catnip, and I might have been able to break dance!!!! Oh, what a party that was. What a nice crowd we had too...all the kitties were so much fun. It was nice to meet some of my friends, like Amelia and Ashlye. I enjoyed meeting everyone! Well- we will just HAVE to do this again next year. Until then....(goes off to scrounge for leftover catnip)...

The day I fell in love...

I have had lots of time to think this month, and the reminisce over the good times that we had when Buster was alive. Still so hard to believe that he is really gone. There was one memory that I wanted to share. That is the memory of the day I fell in love with him. You see, up to this day, I had always viewed him as a kitten and I tried to protect him. Sometimes I just thought that he was being an annoying little brother, but early on he tried SO hard to get us to love him.

One year, at Christmas time mommy got us a big container of catnip. I mean a REALLY big container!!!! The minute she left the room I jumped up on the counter and started to sniff, and then to work at the lid. Buster and the girls were on the floor below calling suggestions up to me. Finally, I decided that since I could not unscrew the lid, the best shot at getting it off was to knock the container off the counter and hope that the lid became dislodged in the fall. So- I kept nudging it with my nose until it was at the edge of the counter, and then rammed into it with all my might and it went sailing off the counter. Oh- we all held our breath as we watch it whiz through the air, wondering if it would work. To our delight, it did!!!!!

Before we could do anything, Buster took a flying leap and pounced into the middle of the catnip pile that was now on the floor. Like a child jumping on a leaf pile, he landed on the pile, and then proceeded to roll in it until EVERY inch of him from his ears to the tip of his tail was coated!!!!! Then, he got up and strutted past each of us, rubbing into us and grinning, saying, "I know you love me now!" He was SO darn cute about it, that we all melted. From that day on, I loved him for the irresistable little baby that he was!

I just wanted to write this down so that it would not be forgotten. I hope that you all get a smile as you read this today!

New friends

I am so overwhelmed with the kindness of all my new Catster friends, that I just had to meow to say how much I appreciate everyone. I am heart broken over losing my Buster, but with the help of my new friends I am trying to be the most positive kitty I can each day. My sisters and I have decided that we will check the forums on a regular basis and return the kindness by e-mailing kitties in need or families of kitties who have recently gone to the Bridge. Life has purpose for me, and that is a good feeling.

Mommy says I am a smart kitty and a good student, and I am learning about computers real fast. I felt so proud when she said that. I even put a pretty heart background on my page. It is candy hearts, because I belong to the cookie and candy cat group. I also belong to the flower power group so I found a graphic that says "Flower Power" for my page. Pretty cool, huh?

One last thing before I sign off...I love you Catsters, and I love you Buster!!!

New Kit on the Block

Hello everyone! My name is Ginger Belle, and today is my first day on Catster. I am overwhelmed by all the kitties out there who have extended their paws in friendship, and and special thanks to Sabrina, the first of my new friends to send me a paw mail.

I am a calico, and like most, am very social and love to be around others. I would be content to cuddle up on the bed every night with mommy and spend all my time close to her or my sisters.

Most of you may have heard by now why my sisters and I joined today. Our beloved brother, Buster, was a member of Catster during the past year. He had some health problems, and took an unexpected turn for the worse yesterday. Despite valiant efforts, he was too ill, and he died at home with all of there with him last evening. We have all joined in honor of him, as Catster was improtant to him.

I have a doggie sister also, and she is a service dog. Her name is Emma and she goes everywhere with mommy. She is ok, as far as dogs go. I just do not like it when she licks me! Ick! Doggie spit all over my soft fur! It takes hours to groom it back to normal afterwards. Alas, what can you do, she is family after all. That's what Buster always said. As Lion King, he was the King of the Animal Kingdom and he said that dogs are part of the kingdom and we had to be nice. So, I endure her licks politely.

I hope I can make lots of friends on catster. Be certain to check out my sisters pages if you visit my site. I'll meow more later.
