Arrival Story:
One evening while preparing for a garage sale, Miss Fiesty Britches shows up and demands food. I had had a terrible day and she didn't care, she just wanted to help me get my garage ready and keep me company while eating. She was wild as a march hare, and I was pretty sure she was a she although she is mostly torti...but she has a streak of white across her neck and she has diamond rings (little spots on her toes) sometimes that's all you can see of her are the toes and the neck stripe cuz the rest of her is so dark. So she lived outside, and came to visit about the same time each night awaiting her canned food and causing my indoor cats to pace and alert me she was around. Spring turned to summer, summer to fall, fall to ice storms. In November we brought her in for her nightly feeding because it was icy icky. but she clawed the door on the 2nd day of being inside so I let her back out. I was expecting and didn't want new baby to get scratched or fleas or whatever and money was kind of tight to get her vet checked to bring her in permenantly but I LOVED HER SOOOOOO much and I really wanted her. then my hubby went to the allergist and had "highly reactive results to cat dander" so a 3rd indoor was really a risk. so I made the best life I could for her outside and in the garage. December 30th, the garage door jammed on her neck, I about died watching it slam down on her repeatedly cuz the laser beam sensor thing would make it go back up but then the railing was bent and made it go back down so it was horrible and I couldn't get to the emergency cord cuz the car was in the way and I'm 8 months pregnant! My hubby heard me scream, he ran out and pulled the e-cord and she bolted. I thought, well, atleast she can run but I also knew that adrenaline can keep cats going even with fractured spines...I cried and begged and called and went and cried and begged and called in my neighbors yard...they weren't home or the men in white coats would have been called...for 3 days and nights my frantzi kitty was missing, presumed dead, or paralyzed and dying...it was 15 degrees one of those nights. I was not okay. And then I went into premature labor and my baby didn't make it...and I was a lot less than not okay...but then my Francis showed back up to eat when we got home from the hospital and so she got an immediate place inside our home. She was vet checked and just fine other than a little freaked out about garage doors.
