Thanksgiving at the spa

Well, you'd think while I'm on vacation there would be lots of time to write. Right. It turns out that my secretary leaves half of the time!!!! How does a girl get a decent diary entry written when the secretary takes her computer, too? No internet for 5 long days! Oh well, I made do and now I'll catch you all up on my adventures.

This summer my visits to the Freudenhaus were sometimes a bit tenuous. I spent quite a bit of time outside hiding in my secret place (no, I can't tell you where!) and my relationship with my godsiblings was a bit tense. There is a great deal of testosterone roaming the haus, you know? Sid was a particular challenge, handsome as he may be.

This Thanksgiving was completely different. For one thing, there was snow there! I live in Lewiston but it's usually ten degrees colder in Pullman and sometimes that means they have snow when we don't. I tried going outside a couple times, but it was way too cold for me. I don't have Pete's big fur coat. Things were better inside, too. Godmom bought a new cat tree and that keeps Sid away from me more, freeing up my thermal cup in the window just for me. I love my spot, it's like a luxury apartment!

There were lots of birds, like usual, but even more going on inside. Pete & Sid play all the time, so they were pretty fun. Pete likes to play All Day Long and he wanted to play with me, too. The toy box was full with things to pull out and the bird toys were out in the turtle holder. And best of all, when godmom left on vacation, the cute Dimitrovski boys came and played with us twice a day!!!! We sure love that part!

No spa is complete without gourmet food and Freudenhaus serves 15 different flavors of Fancy Feast! I love dinner! and lunch! and breakfast! and snacks! Mom & Dad think I don't like FF but that's because they want me to eat the same 3 flavors all the time. These guys don't have to and when we split one can 5 ways, sometimes godmom decides to give us all a second can if Bear asks for us. Bear gets whatever he wants, as always, he's the primary cat and all.

Dad picked me up today. As usual I didn't want to go home. Oh sure, I love it there, but do you ever want to leave when you're on vacation? Besides, I missed dinner and I hate the carrier. Pete was sitting in it one day and it was so cute. Obviously he never has to ride in it. I've seen his carrier, it's pretty swell.

This was the best Thanksgiving ever!

Thanksgiving Week at Freudenhaus!

Well I'm here at the guest spa. As usual the food is wonderful, we get different kinds of Fancy Feast several times a day and there are two kinds of dry food, too. Plus 3 kinds of litter. I'm staying in my usual place, the window with the plants on the thermal pad. I have a view of the bird feeders and the squirrels on the deck. Sid is ignoring me, yeah!, and I think Pete wants to play. I'm not sure. At this point I'm doing my usual, hiss until they go away, that Sarah taught me when I was a kitten. Works great!!!

Bear has been sleeping near me on the back of the sofa. He's so handsome, I really like him. He comforts me by purring all the time and he's really calm. The kittens like him too. Godmom got them all a cat tree and Sid & Pete seem to spend a lot of time there.

I haven't been able to exercise outside this visit. It's been raining for two days straight and though everyone else can go out in it, godmom says I have to stay inside. Something about me taking off for days at a time this summer.... pretty lame. I hear they're all leaving for Thanksgiving to see the girls, so those cute Dimitrovski boys will come and play with us. Yippeee!!! They like to play a lot!

The Christmas cactus is confused and is in full bloom around me on my pad. It's really pretty and I'm enjoying my spa vacation just like all the other times. It's really nice to have a break from my sister, Bonnie the Beagle. My head is drying out and I think I've gotten off all the dog spit. Maybe I should ask Pete for a bath...?

Thanksgiving at Freudenhaus

I just learned through my dad that I'll be staying at my godmother's house for the week of Thanksgiving starting on this Thursday!!! Goodie! 'Course I'm getting a bit old for this, the drive up from Lewiston is really horrible, but staying at the kennel would be worse, and godmum has a big house and great windows. The issue is Sid... will he hate me? Seems like Pete doesn't mind me too much and we all know I love Bear...doesn't everyone? Bear's the coolest.

I hear that those adorable Dimitrovski boys will be catsitting us while godmum is visiting her family for 4 of the days. They're WAY fun. They don't have any cats, so they play with us and take pictures, too. Of course, we all know I'm the most photogenic cat in the world. I have to be in my role as Presidential Cat.

It will be nice to have a spa vacation away from my annoying beagle sister, Bonnie. She chews my head!!! I've perfected the counter walk, which godmum doesn't especially like, especially since I taught it to Sid, who taught it to Pete... I do hear there is a new cat tree at the Freudenhaus, so that will be fun. Plus, they always have lots of kinds of food, especially a huge variety of Fancy Feast!!! I can't wait for that part.
