Yesterday, two police officers were shot and killed when they went to a trailer to arrest someone in a nearby community. Two others were shot and wounded. The two men who were killed were 28 and 30. The younger man had one child, and the older one had five. Meowmy was so upset to read this.....these men put their lives on the line every day.
But I wanted to post and let her know than when they arrived at the Rainbow Bridge, there were thousands and thousands of police officers and police dogs, firefighters, Emergency Responders, and people who had served in the miliraty as well as others who devoted their lives to protecting and helping those in need. They lined up on both sides of the road leading to the Rainbow Bridge, and from their uniforms you could tell some of them had come to the Bridge many, many years ago. I was wearing my bomber jacket and pilot's wings, and sat next to meowmy's Daddy (who I call PawPaw Walter), he was wearing his Army Air Corps uniform, and proudly saluted and welcomed the two police officers. We know their family, friends and community will miss them, but they are safe here in Heaven, and will send a message to their families.
If a member of your family is a police officer, firefighter, or in an occupation that puts their lives in danger, please know our meomwy prays for them every day, and all us kitties purr too.
P.S. Loving Purrs to my family and CATSTER friends.....

Mommy read your diary entry with tears in her eyes and a big lump in her throat. Thank you for welcoming these brave men to heaven, Louis - we sure love & miss you.
Let me tell you that was quite a sight seeing all of those lined up to welcome 2 true heroes..Mom had to leave the room after reading this...A beautiful welcome...Bless your Mom for helping you write this...Our thoughts and prayers are with all especially the little ones who will grow up with only memories of their Dad...
It was a wonderful tribute and welcome from everyone at the Bridge. We always welcome those who come here but some are just extra special. They arrived before their time and they put their own lives on the line to protect others. It is a great sacrifice by them and their families. We have lumps in our throats and tears running down our faces.
From all the Portland Girls and mum
It is so sad anytime we have a falling hero. But they will always be remembered. Ironically, last night we watched Ladder 49, which is a movie about a firefighter who was trapped and died in a fire. It shows him meeting his wife, falling in love, getting married, the fear the wife has of him dying and then them having children. This movie always makes you thank of our hero's.
Purrs for the families and friends to be able to come to peace with the quick exit of their loved ones.
Dat was a beautiful tribute to de two fallen officers Louie. Meowmy and I read it wif tears in our eyes. Dese men were taken from deir families much too soon. Deir wives and children must go on wifout dem. We are purraying dat God will bless de families of dese men, and de two officers will rest easy knowing deir families are being watched ofur. May de two officers nefur be forgotten. Dey payed de ultimate sacrifice. Rest in peace sweet gentlemen...
Blue II and Furmily, and Meowmy too
We understand how your meowmy feels. We had the experience a few years ago right up the street from where we used to live. The officer stopped a man who was playing his car radio too loud and the man jumped out of the car and shot the officer. He left behind a wife and a little girl who's now about 5 years old and has no memory of her Daddy. We know that they would all rather be here with their families, like you would, but we also know that you are making things easier for those who come up there. Please say hi to Ernie, Hope, Lily, Shizzie and all the other angels who have left our family to wait for us at the Bridge! We love you and your meowmy very much!
Love and purrs,
