I went down the mountain today to the vet. Mom has noticed my back seems sensitive and sometime when she's petting me I grumble and jump away, not normal for me as I'm very sweet natured.
Dr. Prince examined me and Mom described my behavior as I sat on the table shaking :( A young lady came and took me off for x-rays, I really showed my displeasure-I tried to bite!
Anyway, turns out I have arthritis in my hips and I'm only 7 years old. After my condition and treatment were discussed, a further indignity, I got shots. What a day, not one I want to repeat any time soon.

Ooh you have our sympathies. We hope the vet can give you something to make you life more comfortable.

We don't like going to the vets either, but sometimes you just have to grin and bear it or in our case howl all the way their.

Oh how terrible!!! What shots did you get? Did you get Adequan for your arthritis? Some of our kitty friends on our website get that, it helps a lot!

I was only 7 when osteoarthritis completely destroyed the inside of my right rear leg. (I was also showing at that time bony spurs in my left foot from arthritis.)

You're a gentleman-cat you'll manage stoically I imagine. (with a little "grumbling" from time to time.) Your Mom and your vet will also work out a way to medically manage you and help you feel more comfortable.

dood....that arthur eye tizz iza nastee ole ewe noe what, we canna print...proba blee de vet iz gonna tell ya ta take co-sequin which iz like total blah...but seer eee iz lee.. omega 3 fish oil helps two...speekin oh fish...... 156 cases oh trout comin yur way coz ya hada crappy day yesterday....

I get stiff too, and get cosaquinn. It helps when it's in the chicken I get as a treat.

I have slept most of the day, doctor said I would feel a bit ill from my yearly shots. Mom and Dr. P talked about various treatments for me, for arthur-ittus, Coseqiun, Fel-a-Way to calm me a bit (I have been very jealous of Minerva :(, and adding an additional litter box since there are three of us.
Have any of you used Fel-a-Way? And does it seem to help?
....I think I'll go back to sleep now
