Aloha everyone
Just a short update on our lives. We were sad when our brofur left us for the rainbow bridge. Buddie wandered away one day and went to sleep. Our friend Wil found him and laid him to rest in a coffee field where Buddie lived all his life. We sure do miss him!
I turned 12 this month, I have enjoyed my 12 years here in Hawaii living on the coffee farm. Mom was off work this past week for spring break, too bad she was sick, but I hung out with her to nurse her back to health. Well yesterday, she was feeling better until Chavez, the white horse that lives in the pasture knocked her down. She bruised her tail bone and is pretty sore but is on the mend, of course I have been spending extra time with her to help her get better.
Take care everyone,
Love and Aloha,
Buster

As some of you may have known mom has been going to school for the past two years well she finally finished and graduated! I am so proud of her, now she will be home more to pay attention to me! Just kidding, but she will be around all summer since she decided to take the summer off. She will be looking for a teaching job, hopefully close so we won't have to move!

Oh so you're wondering what mom's big day? Well she has been going to school to get her degree, well today she starts student teaching! And soon she will be graduating!

Buster and Me, the Adventures of an Orange Cat
Buster, my cat and I have shared many adventures together. We have been together for almost eleven years. He is an orange and white kitty with a crook in his tail. On his face, around his nose and mouth he has markings that look like a moustache and a goatee. He has big golden eyes and weighs sixteen pounds. He looks like a tough cat, but when he meows, the funniest high squeak of a meow comes out.
Okay! Hold on! This is Buster and I thought I better tell my side of the story! I picked her! I knew I had a lot of competition, so I acted cute, she thinks she picked me and I let her think it, but truth be known, I picked her! She is right about how I look. I am a handsome dude! But she is wrong about my meow! I may be squeaky with her, it gets her attention, but out in the wild, I am Buster hear me roar! Mom, you’re embarrassing me!
I got Buster when he was baby. He was so small he fit into the palm of my hand. His hair went every which way and you could see the mischievous look in his eyes. He would run from one end of the house to the other chasing his tail, or his friend Skitty or something that know one else could see. Then, he would drop where he was and fall fast asleep. When he was a baby, he went everywhere with me. And everywhere he went he made lots of friends. Like when we went to the Aloha Theatre. From the minute I walked in, he was whisked away and played with the kids who were rehearsing for a play, and I wouldn’t see him until it was time to go home. He was a spoiled cat.
Buster here again, I am not spoiled! I demand respect and get what I want! If that is spoiled…. Besides, she’s the one with all these cute names for me. Buster boy, Bubba, where does she get them!
Most cats don’t like water, but Buster did. From the time he discovered the toilet, every time he heard it flush, he would race down the hall to see the water go down to the puddle he would play in after the rain it never ceased to amaze me just how much one cat could love water. A bowl of water was not to drink, but a pond for him to play in. I would come home to water all over the floor. I don’t have city water but have a tank to catch the rain, one day shortly after moving into our house I heard a splash, I ran to see what happened. There was Buster soaked to the bone, he had gotten curious about the water in the tank and fell in. Cats can swim, but amazingly his head was not wet.
Buster here again to set things straight! Yes I like water, is that a crime! So I like to play with my water. And I meant to go into the tank, I was thirsty!
As I have said before, Buster had lots of friends including a cat who lived in our neighborhood. Buddie was abandoned and hung out with Buster. After we moved into our house I am sure that Buster showed Buddie where we had moved to and invited him to move in. I tried to keep Buddie out, but it’s hard when you don’t have windows in the front of your house. Buddie lived in a cupboard for two weeks before I gave up trying to keep him out. Now he’s part of the family.
Okay that is it, Buster here again to set the record straight. I did not show Buddie how to get to our new house he followed me. You think I wanted competition. I tried to scare him off but he was persistent and wormed his way into her heart and into my food dish!
The latest adventure I had with Buster happened about a week ago. I was driving home from Rooster Farms, which, is about a half of mile from my house. I saw this orange cat cross in front of my car and thought to myself now that’s a handsome cat! As I drove by I looked again and it was Buster a long way from home. So I stopped the car and called him to try and get him in the car. He would have no part of it. I raced home, put on my running shoes, parked the car at the bottom of the farm I live on and walked to where I saw him and started walking and calling him. I gave up when I got back to the car and drove home. I walked in the door and there he was, sitting on a kitchen chair looking at me like “so where you been” and “where is my dinner”
Okay that is it, Buster here again. Yes, I was out for a stroll, after all she just comes and goes as she pleases. I knew exactly where I was! And yes you bet, I did want my dinner! Geese can’t a guy take a walk without her calling in the National Guard! Don’t humans understand, dogs may have masters, but we cats, we have staff! And she is my staff. Yeah I may cuddle next to her at night, give her kisses and purr, but you have to humor these humans!

Mom was driving home from Rooster Farms Sunday night and was about halfway home when I crossed her path on the road. Boy was she ever surprised to see me so far from home! MOL She stopped her car and got out and tried to get me in the car, but I would have none of that. So she drove away and went home. But then she came back looking for me, but I am headed home cause I know what time it is, it's dinner time. So anyway, shew parks her car at the bottom of the farm we live on, and starts walking to where she saw me last calling my name. No way am I going to backtrack, so I just continue home. Well about 10 minutes later who shows up but mom. And there I am sitting on a chair waiting for my dinner. Silly Mom doesn't she know I have lived on the hill we live on for over ten years and I know my way home! Well I guess she knows now!

ALoha Furiends,
Last Friday mom came home and was sitting at the computer and heard this hen making a lot of noise at our front door. So she went to look to see what the commotion wasw and there was the mama hen and 8 baby chicks! Well mom got some chicken feed and threw it for them and they all started eating. THey are so cute, and I have been good and have left them alone(last time we had baby chicks I caught one and mom was not happy).

Aloha my friends, I know it has been awhile since I have written. You see mom is busy, she hogs the computer all the time. She says she is doing her homework. I sometimes don't believe her because I see her playing games on Facebook. Okay She is going to school and does have lots of homework, but does she have to hog the computer? She is doing very well in school, she even got her first 4.0 ever. I will pop in occasionally when she is not hogging the computer, just know I have not forgotten my friends!
Love and Aloha,
Buster

As many of our friends know we live in a house that has no windows in the front of our house. Well recently we have had a rooster and a few chickens hanging around our house. Well the rooster and chickens have been getting adventurous and have been coming into our house to eat our food. The nerve of these chickens! Well mom was away for a few days petsitting and came home Tuesday afternoon. Well she heard this noise in the kitchen and decided to investigate. What do you think she found? She found a chicken sitting on about 12 eggs under our stainless steel prep table and she won't move! So we now have a chicken in about 3 weeks we are going to have little chicks.
Mom is going to build a chicken coop for them so when they hatch we won't be able to hurt them, she will have to put up a barrier in our kitchen to keep them safe when they first hatch.
But we are going to have chickens and fresh eggs! She even went out and bought chicken feed for them. When they hatch she will move them into their coop and when they get bigger we will have fresh eggs. She will let them free range during the day, but put them in the coop at night. Mom is going to post a picture on my page of her too!
