It is customary to honor your deceased relatives and friends on Oct. 31rst. On the 30th it is kept as a day to honor the animals in your life including those who have passed on. A place will be set for Ms. Kittie and a candle lit in memory of her. We give thanks to the years we had you in our lives. Blessed Be.

As each holiday rolls in I take the time to remember my special one. On each holiday I light a candle for MS.Kittie and say a little prayer for her soul. I thank Bastet for holding her in her arms and caring for her since I no longer can. Physically she is gone, but I can feel her all around me. She lives on in the comforting arms of the Goddess,Bastet.

Seshat is the image of Ms. Kittie. She came to me close to the anniversary of Ms. Kittie's death. I had dreamed of her and three days later I found Seshat.

Memories

It has been nearly a year since Ms.Kittie died. I still think about her every day. It is as if a small part of me is missing. Sometimes I think I see her sitting in the window, but when I reach out for her the image vanishes. I still feel her around me. There are times when I wake up at night and feel her curled in the crook of my arm.
Since Hallowe'en/Samhain is the Celtic New Year and a time to honor and remember those dear departed I lit a candle for her. She is one I will never forget, she is a part of my soul.
The kittens that appeared here earlier this year are well and happy. There are 4,one black, one gray, one gray w/cream streaks, and one that looks Siamese, except for the long hair. They like to follow me all over the place outside. When I rake leaves they chase the rake and the leaves, stalking as if they were after live prey. Once the leaves are in a pile they jump and play like children in the pile. They are quite the characters.

We were so sorry to hear of Jules Verne's passing. But as we all know he is young and healthy again and making friends with all those who have gone before him. And he will be waiting for that day when you are reunited. For now he is a part of everything you see and lives inside of you forever.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there I do not sleep,
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there,I did not die.

I try to remember those words when I think of Kittie. I hope the bring comfort to all who have lost one of their own. Love and blessings to all.

KITTIE

Ms. Kittie has lovely flowers growing where she eternally rests. Shades of yellow, orange, and red adorn her resting place. I'm still waiting on the plaque. I still miss her everyday......I wasn't ready to let her go,I wasn't prepared. But I know she is young, healthy, and happy again on the other side of the bridge.
Last week we found a tiny white kitten with blue eyes in the yard. We took him in and he's a joy. He is deaf and so very small, but doing well. He loves to cuddle and climb. His name is Snowpaw. He gives kisses, too. I think Ms. Kittie would approve.

A week or so ago I came upon 3 kittens in my yard......fluffy little ones. There is one gray, one black, and one cream colored one with chocolate points. The gray and black are no longer afraid when I go out to feed them, but the cream one runs. As soon as they are old enough I will take them to the vet for spaying/neutering. I haven't seen any mother cat around, which is odd. The gray and cream have beautiful blue eyes. The black one has golden eyes. They will certainly be long haired. And of course they will have to be named. My biggest fear is the dogs that run free here......I have seen too many victims.
Ms. Kittie's memorial stone will be here soon. Once it is in place I can plant the flowers around it so she will be resting in a beautiful flower garden of her own.

All Those Strays and Ferals

Ms. Kittie saw many other cats in her time. I have the local feral/stray cats spayed/neutered and they remain around our yard. They are fed, watered, given shelter, and medical care when needed. Ms. kittie would watch from the window the daily process of caring for these cats. There was one cat which seemed to vex her a great deal.....her name was Patches. Kittie would run from window to window following Patches around the yard. It was an insane race about the house as Kittie stalked Patches from inside. I never figured out why Kittie disliked this cat so much, but I am sure they have made peace.
Kitties favorite buddy was Jezzebelle,a white cat w/black patches. They napped together and followed each other everywhere. Their favorite spot was the wash basket, they'd spend hours napping in it together. Unfortunately Jezzebelle died from a scorpion bite when she was only 3 years old.
Kittie tolerated her house mates well enough, but it was clear who was in charge. She even would put the dog in it's place when necessary. Kittie also watched over my son when he was a baby. She would come to get me when he woke up or cried. As he grew older she was very understanding of his toddler ways and would leave when she'd had enough. She would sleep with him at naptime and allow him to hold her tight.....normally a BIG NO-NO. Ms. Kittie was certainly royalty and treated her subjects with kindness.

In The Early Morning

My mom goes to work early, she's there by 4:30 AM. Once she does the deposit and paperwork, she gets everything ready to open. She steps outside around 7 to watch the sun come up......she tells me she loves me and misses me. And she starts to cry.......she goes inside to dry her tears and get a drink to get rid of the lump in her throat. She misses me alot! Sometimes at night I visit her while she sleeps.....it makes her happy. Sometimes in the morning before she leaves for work she fixes me a plate.......then she remembers,I'm not there. She thinks about me alot, sometimes she laughs at some of the funny things I did.....I like to hear her laugh.
