Arrival Story:
Chuck is an outdoor cat who lives on the streets. He is very sweet and affectionate with me. He sometimes stays on my porch, he sometimes disappears for a couple of days. Chuck is still a full tom so this might have something to do with that. I plan to have him neutered within the next week or two. Hopefully that will end the urge to roam.
Bio:
I don't know a lot about Chuck. He has been around for a while and I am only guessing at his age. When he first showed up he was wearing a collar so I thought he belonged to someone, but I am convinced that whoever that might have been is no longer in the picture. I removed his collar because it was definitely too tight.
He is a very sweet and lovable kitty. I am hoping to find a forever home for him after he is neutered.
I call him Chuckie Charlike because he looks very much like a cat I rescued from the streets and brought into my home. His name is Charlie Barleycorn.
Wow, I should have updated this some time ago. Chuckie has been living inside now for some time. He came in about a year and a half ago. He as adjusted very well to living inside. He lost a little weight as he was no longer being fed at a half dozen houses.
Recently he seems to be having appetite troubles and not wanting to eat. He will be seeing the doctor soonl Hopefully it is nothing serious.
1-29-10 And update on Chuckie. After gracing our home for 2 years, Chuckie has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. His appitie troubles did not step from dental probles as we has suspected. On January 28, Chuckie was diagnosed with oral cancer. In addition, the doctor also discovered a heart problem and the heart was completely surrounded by fluid. I faced the most difficult decision any of us who love their pets can face. I could have kept him alive for a while longer. But he was obviously in discomfort. Not only that, but he would hide away for as much as 2 - 3 days at a time and I could not find him. During this time he had no food. He was in pain and knew his health was poor. To keep him alive would have meant confining him where I could find him at all times...the dog crate. This I had done for about a week and he really did not like it. There was really only one choice...and it broke my heart. On January 28, 2010, Chuckie joined his angel siblings at the Rainbow Bridge. One day we will all be together again.
