Arrival Story: I was in college and decided that I had to have kittens. I knew I wanted tabbies and I knew I wanted two. I found a sign for free kittens, called them up see if they had any tabbies, learned they had orange and decided, oh well, I can deal with orange. I ended up with John and George, two tiny little kittens who were not littermates, but their mother's were sisters. They were exactly the same color and I always thought they had the same dad. The two of them would fit in my cupped hands, they were so small. They hid under the table for three days, then took over the joint. John was my primary cat. He was a runner, running from trouble. George was the fighter. Though my landlord made me declaw them (never again), both went outside and never had trouble. John was faster than anyone else and George won as many battles as he lost. :) He loved protecting us!

Bio: John lived to be 17 years old and I'll never forget him. When my husband and I split up, his parents took George and he disappeared a couple years later when he was about 12. John & George taught me that orange is the BEST color and they were the best cats ever. John died of renal failure and he's the reason that I met my fabulous vet, Tammy Faulkner, of Mobile Pet Vet. She came to my house and helped John and later Fred pass in the comfort of their own beds, in my arms, in their own home. I can't thank her enough for her work.
