Arrival Story:
Pouncine was an orphan kitten who was even weaned when a friend and I found her and her sister. Her sister progressed quickly and we gave her to my husband's sister, but Pouncine wasn't the brightest bulb, and she was slow to progress. By the time she was weaned and box trained, we'd fallen in love and she was ours. Unfortunately, John & George, my two orange tabbies, didn't think much of adding a kitten to the family. They completely ignored her. So it became urgent for me to find a kitten for Pouncine. I finally found Fred, my first, and perhaps only, pet store cat. They told me he is age, but by the time I figured out they were wrong, as I waited for him to get old enough to neuter, he'd started spraying and we lived with that for 13 long years, mostly because he was the worlds biggest sweetheart otherwise.

Fred became Bear & Twisty Tail's "mom" when I had to find a home for their mom. He was the most incredibly tolerant cat I've ever seen. Bear would climb into bed with him, this little brown bed that just exactly fit Fred, and lie on top of him. Fred with sort of sigh and scoot over and those two huge cats would share that little bed. Fred never complained. He was hit by cars twice, but never injured, and he never stopped hunting until the day he died of kidney failure. He never gave me grief about the fluids, but he didn't want to eat the special food. He was such a good boy, we miss him.
