Arrival Story:
Sammie was an abused kitty I took home from my college - she was staying in their animal care programme and needed a home desperately because there was a strike about to happen and the college was going to be closed during the strike. I took her home so I could find someone to adopt her...and I tried. Nobody wanted her. It was their loss because for the next 14 years I had the most loveable fluffball living with me. I miss her terribly.
Bio:
Sammie was the most loveable cat I've ever known. She had a head-butt that could bring tears to your eyes! I'm not sure how old Sammie was when I got her - the vet estimated 2 years - but she lived with me for 14 years. She did a great job of tormenting her little "sister" Alaidh - they used to wrestle and box every morning and night until Sammie lost her sight. In Sammie's last months she had several mini strokes. Sammie didn't seem to realise this, as she kept up her motorboat purr almost constantly. She was happy and affectionate - and enjoyed her food immensely - up until her final massive stroke. She died early one morning in my bedroom while I stroked her head. Alaidh came up and sniffed her after she died and let out the most mournful howl I've ever heard. I still miss her terribly, and I'm sure Alaidh does, too.
