Arrival Story:
Fate caused me to read the cat adoption section of the newspaper one day when grad school was really getting on my nerves. Something just clicked. Her human had adopted her from the pound as a kitten. He developed Alzheimers and neede to give her up. She was headed back to the pound as no one in the family wanted her. When I went to look at her she hiding and scared all I could see of her was her rump. I fell in love with her diluted tortie coloring. She seemed healthy, nice fur, clean ears, nose, tail. We secluded her from the other five cats in the spare bedroom. She promptly hid under the bed for two days. Gradually, she came out and let her personality shine.
Bio:
Shadow is a very timid girl. We do not know how old she is or what her real name is. The people we got her from didn't know the answers to any of my questions. We adopted her in Oct of 2004 and she was maybe 4-7 years old. It took a while for her to feel comfortable in our house. She was not used to other cats or stairs. She is very shy at first but once she gets to know you she is a real
flirt. She rolls on her back and purrs to no end. She will not let anyone pick her up and will run away if approached. She will however make use of any lap and loves to be scratched and brushed. She came into our lives when I was having some real life altering questins and taught me perspective.

OMC! OMC! Mom was talking on the phone with Jazzi's mom and Jazzi's mom said we needed to scope out our PAWS group. Guess what?!!? I am the featured PAWS member! My photo is on the background of our group!

Purring some good news! Mom got back from vacation and the vet had called. My blood protien/creatnin levels are NORMAL! Whoot-Whoot! NORMAL!! Still have to take the thyroid pills and eat the kidney K/D food and take arthritis meds but my blood work really made mom smile. Now she is on a mission to get me to gain another pound. We shall see mom.

Mom took me back to the vet today *pouts*. The took more blood and made me wee-wee. How embarassing! Won't know the results of their tortures till Monday or Tuesday. Mom is really happy though, I gained 1/2 pound. She was pretty sure I had gained since my spine isn't as sharp through my fur. She danced and yelled to everyone in the waiting room, "My baby gained a half pound!". Now, how would she like it if I told everyone she gained weight???
