Tortoiseshell and white
She LOVES being brush. She's a pretty shy kitty, but if you introduce her brush to her fur she'll warm up to you instantly.
Other uknown cats...
The catnip mouse!
Favorite Nap Spot:
In the little table between the two couches in the living room - that's kind of like her "cave".
She'll eat just about anything I give her, so it's hard to tell
If she sees you're dirty, she'll start licking you until clean ;) Or maybe she just wants to give you kisses!
Anju is a shy little cat - her favorite spot of the house is under a table that's safely guarded by two couches, where she'll go to if strangers arrive - but, if you have food or her favorite hair brush, and use both of them on her, she'll love you forever and purr and never stop.
She will randomly sit on your lap, or "protect" you by sitting on the chair next to you - if you pet her, she'll reward you with kisses on your hand or on your nose. She's a beautiful big girl - so big, most people think she's a boy without her super girly pink collar! Because of her size and her makings, people often compare her to a racoon, and I agree. :)
She'll hardly meow - she communicates by mixtures of "purrs" and "meow, making a sound kinf of like "Purreeow"! I beleive the sound is called trill? But when she does, her voice is so thin and sweet, it's quite surprising.
She loves water, and she'll gladly play with it for hours.
About a year ago I adopted her from a lady's sister who works in the same company that I do - PETCO. She was only about 10 months old, and although very shy at first she became my baby and I loved her for ever and ever.
Over than a month ago, while I first moved into my new apartment, Anju sneaked outside to take a peak - it was then where she got scared off by another cat and ran away.
Months passed, and after placing ads, calling local shelters, and doing all I could I found no sign of her. My sister suggested me I should adopt another kitty at least to keep me company, so I did - and her name was Sayuri.
Sayuri was a sweetheart, and even though I fell in love with her at first sight, it was always a bittersweet feeling, because I felt so bad and guilty that Anju was gone.
On Feburary 28th, while coming back from grocery shopping, I heard a raspy little meow approaching, and I saw a cute cat by the pool, behind the fence (it was after hours, so the pool was closed.) - at first I thought, "Heh, cute... that cat looks like Anju."
I came closer to pet her, and I came to a stunning realization: " HOLY MOLY, THAT CAT IS ANJU!! COME HERE KITTY!' - She was dirty, thin, her cute, fine voice had turned into a raspy low voice, but even though it seemed she had been obviously having a rough time, she put her little paws through the fence and tried to get me to pet her, purring all along.
I felt so happy I was about to cry, and Alex (my brother and law) tried to help me catch her by getting inside the pool, while I was comforting her and petting her. When she saw Alex she was fine at first, but once the loud noise of the gate opened, she got scared and run away again.
We went to try to catch up with her again, when a lady stopped us and asked us who we were searching for. We explained what happened to her, and she told us that she had found Anju about a week ago and she had been feeding her. That she was going to adopt her and call her Racoon, but she decided to help us out catch her and about two hours later we finally did.
Naturally, she's having a hard time dealing with a new cat at home, and she'll hiss at Sayuri and be defensive whenever she comes nearby, but it's all show - she's too shy to actually get in a fight, so she'll curl up next to the closest person and seek refuge until the other strange cat goes away.
The vet took a look at her, and it turns out that after all that cold she's spent she's got Bronchitis, and she's really weak. But, she's getting better - the hardest part of it all is feeding her the medicine, it doesn't taste good at all!
But, the worst has passed and things are looking better. Things are looking a little rocky, but bottom line is Anju is back again, she's taking her medicine and now she has a sister. :)
