Arrival Story:
A friend heard about a lady whose cat had a litter. We went over and each chose a kitten. This little black and dark chocolate tabby male won me over.

Bio:
Most people assume he's a black cat, and he does appear black in most lighting, but sprawled out in the sunlight you can just make out the darkest chocolate stripes. He also has a few stray white hairs, mostly around his neck. Though he's very timid around strangers, once he gets to know you he'll rub all over you. Jan. 26th, 2011, I came home from work and soon after there was a knock at the door. A neighbor from the street behind mine had been looking for the owner of a cat who had been killed by a car. Sadly, the cat was my beloved Onyx. The guy led me back to his place, where he presented me with Onyx's body for burial. I returned home with him and my sister and I dug a grave in the back yard, in a nice, sunny spot near the back fence. We plan to plant a primrose there. I miss him terribly, but at least I still have the love of my other kitty, Tortilla Soup....

Vet Story:
One time (in 2003, I think) he stayed outside a long time (too long) and when he came back he crashed in a good sleeping location. I didn't know he was ill until I realized he hadn't moved from this spot for several hours, not even to eat or drink. He ended up at the vet, staying there overnight with IV fluids and lots of tests, and I ended up with a vet bill for over $500. Needless to say, Onyx is not allowed outside without supervision ever again!

Some relief... finally

Well over the past couple days Tortilla and I have been receiving fresh, organic catnip leaves. There can never be too much of that stuff, so bring me some more, human!

Our litter was changed some time ago, and I must admit the human is getting a little better at keeping the litter box clean, but I suspect it's only to please the male human who visits from time to time. I notice the box gets cleaned out shortly before the male shows up....

It doesn't matter how often my human takes me outside to walk around, it's not often enough. Plus I hate the harness. I want to go outside to escape from you from time to time... not just so I can eat the monkey grass and puke on your sofa -- that's just a bonus.

OK, I understnd that the human is buying me a variety of canned foods (same brand, mind you) to change things up for me, but I've decided I don't like tuna. Also, whenever you give me the pate-style food Tortilla comes over and licks all the sauce away, leving me a dry lump of gunk... The salmon is okay, though. You can still give me salmon....

I wonder...

... why the only portrait of me is currently sitting on the floor of a closet. The human needs to paint a better one anyway....

... why am I not allowed to go outside by myself anymore?

... who is this male human my female human has been spending so much time with? Doesn't she know she doesn't have time for anyone else but me... and maybe Tortilla?

... when will the human buy more litter for my litterbox?

... what do I have to do to get more catnip sprinkled onto the kitty towers?

Santa,

Bring me the following and nobody will get hurt:

catnip (keep it coming)
cat condo/tower (I must perch myself above all who enter my domain)
more tinsel toys (don't tell me I already have enough... I can never have enough)

I await your arrival with the above demands.

Onyx
