Treats

Well, I have been getting a lot more treats lately. I think this is because mom feels guilty because we ran out of treats for a whole week. For some reason, the brothers haven't been eating as many treats as I want, so I get to finish their portion too. I haven't been as brave tho lately. I keep getting scared when one of the brothers moves, and I won't come close to mom then.

I did hold still long enough last week for her to almost scratch my chin. I did let her pet my head for a second or 2 also. Mom says it seems like two steps forward, one step back. Progress is slow, but there is progress.

Its been a long time

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated you on what we are up too. Mom had to go out of town during her vacation from work. She says she doesn't know why she calls it a vacation because she works harder in that week than she does the whole rest of the year.

Mom is a secretary at a middle school, and she is the person who coordinates and chaperone's the 8th grade field trip to Philadelphia, Washington DC, Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. She has done this for 8 years now. She really likes the trip and loves seeing the kids get excited about history.

We don't like it very much when she goes on the trip tho. We are stuck home without her. Our Papa looks after us, and feeds us, and cuddles us, be he isn't Mom. AND, we don't have our doggie to cuddle with either. Mom takes her out to a friend's house for the week because Papa works nights and sleeps during the day, and Camie needs someone who will take her outside to sniff around, etc. When Mom gets home, we spend as much time with her as we can - today was the first day that we semi left mom alone, and she has been back home for a week already.

Anyway, that is about what we have been up to.

My Secret

Shhhh,

I'm going to tell you a secret. Whenever I get really stressed out, one of the best ways to relieve it is to go suck and knead on my blue cotton blanket. Mom has it in a place that I can get to it easily, and once I get sucking on it, my cares just about melt away. Mom can almost pet me when I am sucking on it, but I am still paying enough attention that I pick up and run when that hand comes near.

We did get treats last night. They are so good. I liked some off of mom's fingers. She held really still, so I wasn't afraid.

Getting Braver

Well, as my brothers have already said, we all got some roast beef tonight. I don't think I have ever had any before. I think that is because I am normally too scared to come close enough to get some, and when mom tosses it to me, my 2 brothers (who are hogs) eat it before I finish checking it out. Well, tonight I got some. I ate a small piece from mom, and then she tossed the rest to me, and since she had fed the brothers first, they weren't so inclined to shove me out of the way.

I am getting brave enough to take almost all of my temptations treats out of fingers. She doesn't have to toss too many to me - I only get scared when someone moves and Tavi usually hops down first and scares me.

Brave me

Well, I did it, I was brave today. Mom had temptations, and I just can't resist them. I actually went up and ate a few out of her fingers. I only did it because she stretched her arm out as long as she could, and I stretched my neck out as long as I could. This way, we didn't actually touch that much. I even was so excited, that I bit her fingers. She didn't seem to mind tho. After the treats, I even licked the chicken dustings off of her fingers. I was BRAVE.

Hello

Hi, my name is Cody, and I am a gray tabby. I don't trust people very much, so I spend most of my time hiding where noone can see me. I will come out when mom has temptations, and when I get brave enough, I will eat a couple from her hand, but I don't dare get to close.

I have 2 older brothers that I am told are from the same litter, but they are 2 totally different colors. I don't care about that tho, because most of the time, they are nice to me, and sleep with me and play with me.

We cats also have a dog that is ours. She is very nice, and likes to make sure our ears are clean. I will rub on her and put my stink on her, and the goofy thing just starts licking us.

Both of my brothers got out today, but I am too afraid of the door to go near it. Mom, my brothers and sister and I are supposed to move soon. I have no idea how mom is going to catch me, because I run whenever she gets too close to me.

Oh well, maybe one day I will be braver. Maybe if she puts a whole bunch of treats in the carrier, I will go in there.
