Likes: A blue leash she got for free at Banfield (the pet hospital) - she has many toys, but she insists on going hunting for that leash every time!
Pet-Peeves: She doesn't like to be left alone. Whenever I go to the bathroom, go take out the trash or something she will patiently wait by the door I came out from and wait for my return.
Favorite Toy: That chewed-out leash!
Favorite Nap Spot: Her little cat bed, my lap or next to my pillow.
Favorite Food: I noticed that she'll take little nibbles out of everything I eat, so none in particular.
Skills: She's very talkative! She'll be meowing and purring at anything/anyone. She's polydactal and tuxedo colored, so her paws look like little mittens, and everytime she'll eat or play with things she really gets a grip of them and she looks super cute!
Arrival Story: I had been wanting to get a feline companion for a while, after moving out to my own apartment for the first time I needed a little buddy to keep me company. I had been looking in websites like petfinder.com, checking out shelters but I had never really dared to do that final step.
My sister and her brother and law had an appointment for their two cats, Bella and Cleopatra to Banfield the Pet Hospital, that's located in a local Petsmart, so I tagged along and went with them for no particular reason.
There's a little adoption agency inside petsmart, so I went and took a look, petted and played with the cute kitites there for a while, and in a the end of the room, by the little cat condo I saw Sayuri playing gleefully and being all cute. :P It was love at first sight!
I couldn't find any description of her anywhere, so I asked one of the volunteers about her, and they told me all about her; after falling in love with Sayuri even more, I went ahead and told them I wanted to adopt her.
During the whole trip Sayuri was just there chilling on her little cat carrier, purring and not complaining at all. When she first got a glimpse of my apartment, instead of running away and hiding inside the bed she just started sniffing and taking a look of everything.
I knew she was staying with me for a long time...
Bio: Sayuri is the ultimate young female cat – she’s got everything one could ever ask for. She has beautiful green, expressive eyes; Maine Coon, and tuxedo (black & white) colored, medium fluffy hair – very much like a soft angora. She is polydactyl, her front paws look like they have little mittens. She’s very feminine.
She plays like a little kitten, she’s very protective of her owner and will tag along and follow me everywhere I go; she’ll also try to “help” out in my daily chores; she and meows, chirps and purrs at just about everything. She’ll even eat only when I’m around or I’m eating, and if I’m not there she’ll just leave her bowl empty! :P
She loves all cats, and she’ll get along and will play to any cat who is nice to her – she’ll ignore the grouchy ones. If one cat is confrontational towards her, she’ll just stand there and look at the other cat with a “What’s a matter with you? Chill!” expression. She’s not afraid of dogs, and loves to watch the fish in the fish tank.
Lovable, adores being brushed and petted. Her lush fan feathered tail arches beautifully over her back – she’s a joy to come home to!
Sayuri had only one family since she was a kitten, before going to the shelter – sadly, a divorce forced the family to give up Sayuri and the rest of their family pets up for adoption. She was very well-cared for ahd had a very loving home before having to stay in the shelter for six months. She as adopted on Feburary 10th, 2007 by myself and she’ll stay there for many years to come. :)
