Silver Tabby

His big brother

Being picked up and when mommy runs the vaccuum cleaner.

Favorite Toy:
I have a little long, black thingy that is my favorite! I take my toy everywhere...even to sleep on the end of Mommy and Daddy's bed. It has to be with me all the time!! Also the plastic rings from milk jugs and hair ties.

Favorite Nap Spot:
His favorite couch cushion or on the bed cuddling with his brother.

Favorite Food:
He doesn't care what kind, he'll eat it. He really likes to lick up the left-over juice from a can of tuna.

Playing fetch with the plastic milk rings, throwing things up in the air, and looking really precious and innocent all the time! He curls his paws in on themselves and makes his legs disappear!

Arrival Story:
My sister and I had driven a long way to rescue a cat that we learned was in desperate need for a good home. At the last moment, and unknown to us, the horrible owners of this poor kitty skipped town and we were unable to rescue her. We made the trip worth-while, however, and stopped at the local humane society. We would rescue a kitty from there, after all. We chose a black and brown tabby in a back room, at first. But when we took one look at the gigantic-pawed silver kitten standing on the ledge of a kitten-filled room pawing at us through the glass, we were smitten! He would actually lean up against the glass as we touched it and simulate being petted! We knew he was a sweetie at that moment! We took both kitties and they've become the best of friends. Teddy was named on the long drive home, a drive that he comfortably slept through like a little angel!

Teddy is the most good-natured kitty I've ever met. He very rarely causes trouble and he never has anthing to say. He might very lightly speak once every 3 weeks or so. Otherwise, he sticks to body language. His paws are always animated and speaking for him. In the morning he'll let me know he wants food by pawing at my face and purring. He loves to rub his body all over the carpet, rug, or whatever may be standing in his way. For this reason, he's usually statically charged! He shocks me every time he comes up to be petted! Unlike his brother who had a very hard life before coming to me, Teddy doesn't have a care in the world. He's very skittish and scares easily, but that just adds to the humor of his silly personality. He's always good for a laugh and I wouldn't trade him for the world!

Ok... happy note first. My precious toy is home and it is safe. It was under the tv in the bedroom. So, let's all hum the happy toys song... "Hmmm hhmmmm.... hmmm hmm hmmm..." Ok, that's enough. Now for the scary part.

I was cuddling with my toy on the bed last week and all of the sudden I heard a knock at the door. What the deuce? (as Stewie would say). So, while Daddy talked to the scary people at the door, Meowmy grabbed me (YES- GRABBED ME...) and put me in our cat room. Then she shut me inside! I don't know what happened from there. Sammy and Nigel were there, too, and my head started spinning. There were all these loud noises floating all around my head. Sounded like trains and buses and airplanes were all crashing into our house at once! It was crazy! I hid most of the time. So I didn't get hit by a bus, of course.

I thought it was over when Meowmy let me out of the room, but two days later the people were back! And then we were locked in a DIFFERENT room. And then more and more noise! It was TERRIBLE! I'm still looking into this, but I think I heard Meowmy say something about new windows??? Why would windows make that much noise??? I'll keep you posted.

HELP! What do I do?

I've lost my toy! Do you know where it is? Oh boy, oh boy. I'm just lost without it. Of course, I still have my hair ties and brothers to play with, and the cat tower, and lots of other things, but I still want my toy! Here is a little something I wrote last night in honor of my toy:

Ode to My Toy... by Teddy Roo Bailey

Oh sweet little toy with
your whiskery arms.
Your little black coat,
it brings joy and warms.
We had some great times
when at you I would snip
And chase you around
as if I was on nip.
Please come back home
and put me at ease.
Subdue my misery
and return to me please.

Thank you, kitty pals. Please purr for my toy...

Your loving and depressed friend,

Teddy Roo

You knew this was coming...

Yes, catsters, you knew this was coming. I have a new brother and I know you're all just purring to know what I think about him. He's....OK.... Ok, well, he's a little more than ok. Alright, I LIKE HIM! Geez...twist my paw, why don't you. I do feel a little bad for the guy with all the nasty meds he has to take and all. I remember having to take meds when I was a little tyke. But hey, he has no idea what it's like to have to soak your paw in this blue stuff for 10 minutes every day... 10 MINUTES I tell you. I had to do that when my paw got infected. And hey, he has it pretty well. He gets to eat the yummy canned food while Sammy and I are shoved aside to choke down that crunchy junk. And look at all the attention he's getting on Catster! What am I, chopped liver? He's got all these pretty rosettes, butterflys even! I want a BUTTERFLY!!! *pouts* Anyway, he's not so bad, I guess. I might even let him sit next to me at some point...but not yet. Space bubble...big time!
