Christmas good wishes to all my Catster friends and their families, we have been encouraged and cheered by your thoughtful comments and Zealies during my Sugarkitty struggle and Mom's surgery.
I am now a fulltime sugarkitty, after correcting myself for a while, I'm back on insulin. my doctors are now working to get me regulated. Yesterday, I was still way to high, 350 and I was bumped up to 4 units 2 x a day. Dr. C hopes this will get me below 250. She says I'm getting older (12 in March) and my pancreas is not working as well. My prognosis is still good though.
As for Momcatt, as she was told and now fully knows :( shoulder surgery is painful and takes a long time to recover. But, thanks to excellent PT's she is making progress-one of her goals is to paint the outside of our house this spring-the therapists say she will be able to do this!
We're enjoying our lights and decorations and are settling in for a quiet mountain Christmas
God Bless you one and all!Gentleman Jack
Good to get an update Jack. Wish it was better news but the insulin shots will get you back on track. You remember I was diagnosed with diabetes in late October and I take shots twice a day.
I quit eatin' my purrskripshun can food and eat MM can now. Hopefully it has enuff protein and low carbs and my vet will be happy with it.
My vet said that unlike humans, the pancreas in cats and dogs can heal itself. Hope yours does. Hope mine does too. I go back for a check up and blood work next week.
MC you take it easy Woman! PT is some good stuff and will help you a great deal.
Nice to hear from you.
We hope you get 'figured out' to a stable level of sugar and insulin...what a fince balancing act you have to do!
Purrs to your Momcatt, too.
Those PT peeps can do wonders, meomwy knows it firsthand...and she also sees it at her work evfurry day.
Have a safe and Happy Christmas!
I hope you can get your insulin lowered and that you feel well.
I'm glad your Momcatt is recovering and the PT is helping. My MC goes to a PT to and it can really help.
We wish you Merry Christmas!
Hi Jack, too bad about your insulin, hope you get it back to where it's normal again. Hope your mommy is doing better too! Love you both!
Good to hear from you. Purrring that everything gets in order for you and your family!
Thanks for the update, Jack. It's too bad that our bodies work less well as we get older, but that's the way it is with humans, too, and thank goodness both we and our humans can get medical help with that.
I know that I would not have been on earth as long as I was, or as comfortably as I was, without the help of lactulose, thyroid medicine, occasional steroids, glucosamine and some other medicines through the years. All delivered by Mom with love, as your Mom delivers your insulin.
Glad that her shoulder is getting better!
