A lot has happened since our last diary entry. We're all home, Dad came home from the hospital last week; now we're waiting to start the next step in this...journey.
We will start Dad's medicines to treat this thing, we are all purring our best purrs and need all your purrs and huggs.

Momcatt picked up up this morning and we're home, there is no place like home! Well it was NOT a cat spa but we we're well cared for by the vet's staff. Momcatt and Dad are resting; back to hospital next week.

You are great furriends, many purrs to you all! Momcatt will probably not be checking FB and catster often the next few days.
By the way we are all now at the "luxurious accommadation" Momcatt arranged for us, ha ha, (looks like the V-E-T to me) We have our carriers, beds and blankets. Mom brought our food but we're hoping we get special treats :)
Purrs and hugs,
GJ and family

Our Momcatt was up early this morning and when she opened the computer and saw all the zealies and your wonderful, caring and supportive messages, she was so touched. She read your sweet messages to Dad and it was comforting to them.
Momcat will send zealies to you all, there is so much to do between now and leaving for the hospital Wednesday morning.
Mom has talked to us and told us what is going on so we will understand BUT she told us she has booked us in a wonderful new CAT SPA, with private rooms for each of us and that she will take our favorite beds.....well, Minerva, Micky and I talked and we smell VET. But we'll be brave and purr for Dad and Mom It will be a new experience as we've never been boarded in our lives, but we will try to be brave kitties.
Hugs and purrs, Gentleman Jack, Mister Micky and Miss Minerva

Bad news for our furramily

Don't know how many Catsters are still out there, Catster was always such a wonderful place of support for us all.
We learned this week our beloved further has cancer. Our hearts are broken and there are no words for how we are feeling. Micky, Minerva and I know something is wrong and are staying close by.
Momcat has cried her eyes out, think of us next Wednesday as we go to the hospital for the beginning of treatment
Asking for your best purrs and thoughts for our Mommcatt and Dad.
Hugs, Minerva, Gentleman Jack, Mister Micky

12 Today

Where have the years gone, I'm twelve years old today. I've been a sugar kitty for 18 months, I'm blessed to be one of the kitties who has done well on insulin, I've felt good and been able to enjoy life.
Mom sang happy birthday to me (she is NOT blessed with the gift of song but she made a joyful noise :) and I'm going to get a little more of my 'gold pellets" (diabetic cat food) in my dish tonight. A very nice, peaceful birthday.
Thank you my furriends for your good wishes on FB and for the Zealies.
Love, Gentleman Jack

My vet visit

I saw Dr. Prince today for my blood sugar check and weight.I'm now a healthy 11 pounds, 8 ounces; show cat weight, if I were a show cat.
My sugar was too low again so I'm back down to 2 units of insulin, I go back in 3 weeks.
I will miss posting here on Catster. Here we've felt safe and free and had the anonymity to post in our cats voices.
In 7 years I never saw a negative post. I believe Catster brought out the goodness and best in us.
Peaceful purrs to all our friends.

Saying Goodby Is Never Easy

We were sad to hear the news of Catster closing down; sad, but not surprised. It seems all good things must come to an end but it is never easy.
We will spend the remaining time saying goodby to our dear friends. You have been such a joy in our lives since we joined in 2007. All your encouraging words and purrs/prayers have helped us get through my struggle with diabetes, the loss of Mom's friends last year and have also brought much laughter and sunshine into our lives.
Love and blessings to each of you.

Gentleman Jack's Christmas Letter to all my Friends

Christmas good wishes to all my Catster friends and their families, we have been encouraged and cheered by your thoughtful comments and Zealies during my Sugarkitty struggle and Mom's surgery.
I am now a fulltime sugarkitty, after correcting myself for a while, I'm back on insulin. my doctors are now working to get me regulated. Yesterday, I was still way to high, 350 and I was bumped up to 4 units 2 x a day. Dr. C hopes this will get me below 250. She says I'm getting older (12 in March) and my pancreas is not working as well. My prognosis is still good though.
As for Momcatt, as she was told and now fully knows :( shoulder surgery is painful and takes a long time to recover. But, thanks to excellent PT's she is making progress-one of her goals is to paint the outside of our house this spring-the therapists say she will be able to do this!
We're enjoying our lights and decorations and are settling in for a quiet mountain Christmas
God Bless you one and all!Gentleman Jack
