Now I am Five !!!

Today Maggie and I turned five years old. Guess that means I am now a grown up cat- us coon kitties can grow until we are 5- MOL.
Maggie and I got CATNIP banana and a pink birdie toy. Abby stole our banana and hit us each in the head. She is a feisty cat!

I am trying so hard to be a good boy. Sometimes I forget though and do silly stuff, like climb things and try to touch the ceiling.

So many cats sent me and Mags birthday greetings, that was so very sweet!! Thank you all

Scenes from the dinner table

We got chicken tonight. When our pawrents have chicken Mama cooks some extra(plain) for us to share. I LOVE chicken.

So does Abby …. She slapped me on the face to steal some of mine. I just sat there and squeezed my eyes shut as tight as I could.
Daddy said : “he is thinking to himself that maybe when he opens his eyes Abby will have gone back to the woods!”
Wow – Daddy can read my mind!!! I was so hoping when I opened my eyes she would be gone… but no, she was still there. Always there - staring at me with those big owl-like eyes! I think I will squeeze my eyes shut again and dream

Trouble or GOOD BOY?

The other evening I was striding into the room where the catputer is located -I wanted to visit with Mama. My tail was held high, since I am a very happy and sweet cat. So imagine my surprise when Mama said:
“Oh, oh , here comes trouble!”
Wondering who was behind me I of course turned and looked over my shoulder! Then lo and behold Mama said to me:
“Loki sweetheart, who are you looking for? I meant you of course” and she laughed…
Of course I continued on to see Mama and jumped up and rubbed my head on hers. She says I have become a love bug. But I started to think about this “trouble” moniker! Everyone seems to think I am a naughty, a mischief , trouble. But you know- when I think about it- I am a good boy, in fact a very good boy. Now I will admit to being active and curious, but that is good, right?
I am not the cat who broke a toaster oven, a crystal bowl and a window! No- that was the perfect Miss Kiwi!
I am not the cat who sat on top of kitchen cabinets, even the refrigerator . I have never caused a scar on Mama’s leg. I did not make Mama wake up to feed me at 3 am for my first 5 years of my life (well I am only 3…but I have not done it for my 1st 3 years either!) No, that was the sainted can do no wrong Muffin!!
I am not the cat who peeled chunks of the wallpaper border off the wall in the hallway. That was the sainted Peanut.
I am not the cat who decided to scratch the wooden doorway into the bathroom, a doorway by the way that survived 100 years until she arrived ! No- that was ( and is) Abby. She also smacks me on the head an awful lot, and I hardly ever smack back. I just close my eyes and grimace.

So you be the judge – am I trouble? I say no…sure I used to climb curtains.. yes- I open cupboards and go inside, yes- I walk on the counters , yes- I beg for people food, I try to eat plants and plastic bags, but I am a GOOD BOY. Maybe I am not quite as well behaved as my sister Maggie, but I am sweet, loving and yes, I am active, but not trouble!

Christmas Tag

My little friend Milo wrote in his dairy that he hoped everyone who read his dairy would play tag and post their own answers to Christmas tag, so I decided to take him up on the challenge.

1.Do you believe in Santa Paws? Why? /Why not?!

Of course , you just have to believe . Its part of the magic!!

2. Have you been naughty or nice? Please explain yourself!

I am named Loki for a reason-MOL!!! Sometimes I just can't help but be naughty, but I try hard to be a good boy, and I am sweet and loving , very loving so I think I can be considered nice enough to get some good pressies !!

3. What would you like Santa Paws to bring you? Why?

I would really like a big cat tree that Maggie and I can sit on. We don't have one . Most of them have kind of small platforms or nests that we won't fit well on. If we get a big one we would even share with Abby and Kiwi too

4. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Why?

Like Milo, I like happy songs. I like most any that Mama and daddy will sing for me , especially if they customize them with my name. For example " Loki the snow cat was a jolly happy soul, with a corn cob toy ,a felt nose and two eyes made out of emeralds..."

5. What is your favorite Christmas movie? Why?

I like "Its a wonderful life" , I curl up with Mama or Daddy when they watch it . It reminds us all how special we are and that we indeed play an important part in the lives of our family and friends- we are rich if we give and receive love!

So, I too will invite any fur who reads this please play too.
This is a lot of fun and we get to know each other better too!

I saved Kiwi, well, sort of...

We live in a 2 story house and the stair railing extends along the front hall upstairs. We can stick our heads in and out between the rails and peak down- pretty much just our heads for Maggie and me , but Kiwi and Abby are smaller so they could go through if they wanted to.
Today for some reason Kiwi decided to stick a lot of her body through and Daddy yelled to mama to come up the stairs and push her back so she would not fall. ( Since she is a teen cat they worry about her being not quite so fexible)
But I was close by so I ran to her and sort of pushed her back so she would not be in any danger . I am a good brother! Mama and Daddy were impressed that I actually reacted so quickly to go to her rescue!
She probably would have backed up anyway , she always has in the past- she is still very nimble, so I'm not much of a hero.
I loves my Kiwi sisfur, and I like to protect her. Once a long while ago when Abby was hitting Kiwi I picked Abby up and turned her over onto her back and held her with my paw for just a moment so she got the message. Do not pick on Kiwi!
Kiwi purrs so loud, I love to lay near her and listen. She is a wonderful sister. Of course I would save her!

Flying Loki

I can fly!!!!!!!!
Well, I don't actually have wings like a bird, but I can fly!
I like to move around the room without touching the floor . Heck, why should I get down onto the floor to move from the love seat to the back of the sofa if Iwant to look out the window? And so what if one of my pawrents is sitting there? I just fly over their heads! That makes them nervous...wonder why?
Today daddy was taking some pictures of Maggie , and while he had the camera out I decided to fly- and he caught me on the camera- its a fast camera !
I also like to fly if another cat is in the way- why go around ... Just jump up and fly over!!!
Maggie can fly too, but don't tell 'cause she is a lady like cat and dosn't want anyone to know she flies around - a lot-! Maybe Daddy will capture her "on film" flying one day too and all the world will know!

Thank you Catster!

I can not believe I was cat of the day today! This is so amazing, I mean there are so many deserving cats out there- it really is a great honor!

This honor has allowed me to meet some wonderful kitties that I have not met before . I will be sending thank yous to all my new friends and dear old friends who have sent me lovely stars, rosies and kind notes , but I hope they will be patient as sometimes I am a slow typing cat. MOL

How did my sisfurs react to the news? Well Maggie, ,my fraternal twin, was so happy for me she ripped up two mouse toys- tore the heads right off! She only does that when she gets excited. It was the pink one and the red one- ( aside to Captain- it was the red mouse in her photo!!) We will have to get her some more of them.Kiwi was quite happy too, no swatting from her today. Muffin was very proud too, but it was very hot today so she had to rest a lot.For those of you who don't know her she is 18 now, so she has good days and bad days....

Daddy said that maybe the honor had gone to my head as I was very pushy when asking for chicken at dinner time. I was really just hungry....

Again, thank you everybody. I truly apprecaite all the kind thoughts and gestures. Catster is such a wonderful place! If the world was like Catster- what a wonderful world it would be!

(Note : We looked at all the kitties we have now tagged and when we looked they had not yet been tagged, but if you have been tagged in the meantime , do like me and just send this along once. Seven Random Facts about Me:

1) My 1st birthday is today May 23rd

2) My littermate sister Maggie lives in my home with me. We look alike from behind

3) I have caught 2 live mice in my house! I did not kill them

4) I love toy mice. I carry them to my water bowl, soak them then place them in my wet food bowl. Which ruins them unless they have plastic bodies! Then I bring them to Mama and Daddy to throw for me. They say they are yucky. I say they are perfect!

5) The name my breeder gave me as a baby was Pounce

6) When I came home for the 1st time I came out of the carrier and although Mama and Daddy were planning to introduce me slowly to Muffin and Kiwi, I went around the house as if I had lived their my entire live, seemed to know where everything was and made myself at home. Muffin and Kiwi accepted me right away and I curled up with Muffin which amazed my parents

7) I can now stand up and place my front paws on the counter. I am tall!
