Today I made my second ever trip to the city in the heart of Auckland where I live . This time it was all together for e different reason. Last time it was for the Christmas parade that mum and I took part in ... well I sat and mum pushed me .. This time I was helping with the Flash a light Appeal for St John .
This is the organisation that has the Ambluance service here in NZ and many other Community based services that they run . Outreach Therapy Pets is part of this worthy organisation , and I am proud to be part of that .
We went to the city(about a 3/4 hours drive ) in a mini bus and then we had to set up where we to collect from passer bys and we had several dogs there around the city ... there was 2 with me Harry( the blacklLabradoodle) and William ( the litle white Spitz/poodle cross) ... they are my friends .. well we were doing well and then it rained !! Poor mum she had to move me all our bags under shelter. I sat on my stool and never moved ... and then while we were under the shelter from the roof it had a leak and keaked on me , my bed and my basket so when it was time to go back every thing was wet ... But I didnt mind as then I could sit on mummy's knee in the mini bus and watch the cars and busses as they went by !!
It was a good day and I even had my own collection bucket ... Hope that there was lots of money in it . People were funny as they went past me .. they would stop ... come back and ask is that a real cat ?? I mean what did they think I was ... dead or something ?? Then mummy would say yes .. come and pat him ... well that was all they needed and several took pictures of me !! And they put money in my bucket ..
I am going to dio this again next year I hope and I hope to make more money than this time !!
Have a look at my pictures and see me out collecting .
