Arrival Story: I used to live in a house with A LOT of other cats. But then one of the people who also lived there took me over to another house. There was a nice family that lived there, and they only had a few cats. Enough cats for me to have plenty of company, but the place wasn't packed like my old house was. They let me live outside here and sleep in the garage. I get grumpy and try to fight whenever they try to make me a house cat. Bad memories don't you know...

Bio: Right after I showed up at the new house, one of the new girls I live with came outside to feed us. She found me, a little confused I'll admit, in the garage. There was a new baby kitten with me, right behind the garage door. The girl quickly shut me and my daughter in to keep the other cats away. Later that day, the parent-people let her bring me inside. They thought that since I was so young I wouldn't be able to take care of my baby outside, and defend her from any harm. I admit, I was a little unsettled. I was practically a kitten myself. But we stayed in the house for a few months. (I didn't like it in there... reminded me of when I lived in an overcrowded house) My kitten grew. The people called her Shaniqua after some silly song. But it was a pretty name. I liked it. Shaniqua was ALL attitude. Tiny and furry (she looked just like me), she didn't take any guff from anybody! The people finally let us back outside when Shaniqua was big enough to take care of herself. It was a relief to be outside, I had so much fun showing my little girl the ropes. But too soon after, my little baby got sick... very sick. She fought and fought, because that was her approach to life. The people took her to the "vet" but his medicines didn't end the sickness. One day, my little Shaniqua couldn't fight the nasty fever anymore, and she passed away. I miss her so very much (I shall find a picture someday and put it on this site). I've never had anymore kittens. (The people had the vet make sure of that.) I'm glad. No one could replace my only daughter.

Did you know I was a Diary of the Day pick a few days ago.... because MY PERSON DIDN'T!!!!!
I'm furious with her! See if I purr at her the next time she's home from the college-thingy! . . . okay, so I probably will, but I'm still mad!
Patches
PS Thanks for the pick Catster, even if my person was too inattentive to let me enjoy my day in the spotlight.

I've added two pictures of my precious kit, Shaniqua. You can really see her attitude shine through in the second one! She always bragged that she destroyed that couch all by herself and made a hidey hole inside. I never let on that I was well aware that she'd only made a hole in a shabby couch bigger; she was so proud.
She grew up to be full of more attitude than you'd believe could be packed into a furry body that small. She intigrated with the other cats well because she fought back and refused to be placed lowest on the pecking order.
Sadly, she died young. It might have been distemper, I don't like to think about it. These are the only two pictures I have of her and I'm proud to share my webpage with my beloved daughter!

I've been tagged by Jinnarin (purrr),
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write in their own diaries about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary!
MY LUCKY TAGGED CATS:
1- Corellia (579158)
2- Philia (579144)
3- Floofy (445723)
4- Bastien (561617)
5- Wilma (462585)
6- Caprice (579182)
7- Logan (575632)
OK READY?
#1 I can sometimes get bitey and scratchy if you don’t satisfy my need for huge amounts of pets completely. Finish the job you started!!
#2 My big achievement in life was killing a bat that was scaring the Woman of our house. It wasn’t very tasty, but it sure made her happy!
#3 I know I’m pretty… I often “walk like a super-model” (to quote the Girl) by swishing my hips and tail in a very beautiful fashion. I’ve been told I sashay quite well.
#4 I rarely meet a human I don’t like… sometimes I even tolerate the neighbor children.
#5 I drive men wild! Every time the youngest girl brings her boyfriend over, he sighs and says he wants to steal me. :D Can’t get enough of my long luscious fur!
#6 I escaped from the house full of too many cats that was my original home, only because I am lucky enough to be a calico! The young girl likes calicos… word got around and before you knew it, presto! I had a new, better home.
#7 Shhh… this is the big secret… I’ve occasionally let my fur get matted and the young girl had to cut pieces out! Don’t tell okay? I don’t want word getting out that my fur’s not purrrrfect.
