She was a very sick little girl when she first came to us. One vet told us to put her down and save us all a lot of hearache. But we would never do that. We ended up taking her to another vet that discovered she had pneumonia and saved her life. She is now 11 years old. Always get a second opinion.

It has been one year ago today that I lost my precious little girl. Not one day has gone by that I do not miss her and grieve for her. You truly are forever in my heart.

Yesterday, October 23, 2009 the brightest star in my world went out. We lost Sydney at 14 years almost 2 month of age at UC Davis
Veterinary hospital. I don't know what to say other than I will miss her every day of my life. She was so special and so important to me that words just cannot explain. I knew she had several medical issues, but I had hoped to keep her alive forever!! I miss you Sissy and I am so sorry!!!!!!! You are forever in my heart.

We have just learned that Syd has Cushing's Disease. Of course we are really scared for her. I just need to learn everything I can about this disease and how to fight it. I certainly know that Syd will do her part. She is such a fighter. Walt and I will be going in for a consultation with her Doctor on Thursday. I have already picked up her medication. It really sounds scary. It is Mitotaine 175 mg. The pharmary said that we should wear gloves when we give it to her. I don't know that I want to give her something that I have to wear gloves to administer. More later.....
