Arrival Story: Like her sister Anne, I was going to a movie and went to a pet store in Texas that we visited on a regular basis. I played with her in her cage and thought she was cute. I told my sister about her and brought my sister by to meet her the next day. Ginger put on the hard sell and we could not resist. She was four months old and had spent the first four months of her life being completely spoiled by the lady who owned her mom...she gave Ginger up reluctantly. Funny, it took about a week to come up with the right name for her. Her Daddy named her and they have been having a love affair ever since!
Bio: Ginger is a sweet heart and she is a firecracker. She doesn't take anything from anyone!! However, she has a side we like to call her "psycho cat" side. I will be holding her on my lap petting her and she is purring and happy...the next minute she is hissing and nipping my hand. There is no rhyme or reason for this, she just gets really angry really fast for no apparent reason (at least apparent to us). Her tail was once an inch longer. However, there was an incident in 1997 where I was getting ready for work and she came in the bathroom, I didn't see her and stepped on her tail. Now, I want to defend myself here...I step on the fur on the tip of her tail and she completely over reacted, jumped into the air and took off. I looked down, and to my horror saw blood and a tuff of fur! I grabbed the tuff and ran off looking for her. We found her hiding under the bed, with a white nub of a bone sticking out at the end! YIKES! She wasn't in any pain, just scared because Mommy was hysterical. Well, long story short, her vet had to amputate the end of her tail...even though I had the tip on ice wrapped in a cloth (they do that in the movies...it seemed like a good idea at the time)! Anyway, she is an awesome girl and she adores her brother Sagan, hates her sister Anne, and has a deep respect for Bill.

The Last Forum I Posted In: Catsters In Need of Serious Purring
Sadly, Ginger went to the Bridge today. Her crossing was very peaceful and she was in her daddy's arms. Ginger's loss will leave a huge hole in our lives, but she will always have a huge place in our hearts. We were blessed with sixteen wonderful years, less one day. Her birthday is tomorrow. How lucky are we? There are no words to express how much everyone's love and support has meant to us. We love you Ginger and will miss you forever.
I went to the vet today and they found a M.A.S.S. in my adbomen. I thought I had a bad tooth...it could be that too, but he golf ball size mass is there. The doctor thinks cancer, but can't be sure without an ultra sound...we think that she should just do surgery and take what ever it is out. If its not cancer, then great...if it is...well, maybe I get more time. My friend Delyte sent me a note telling me of his mass and of it not being cancer. This has given us all hope in an otherwise bleak afternoon. If any of you have any ideas, please let us know. We love you all very much and hope that you will purr like crazy for me!!
Well, I was taking a nap today and the door burst open!! It was my Dad rushing into the room to show me what had arrived for me!! My wonderful, handsome, spectacular, amazing, smart, considerate, and terrifically imaginative boy friend OLIVER sent me a dozen long-stemmed Roses!!! I can barely contain my excitement!! I would never have imagined that there was such a wonderful cat out there in the world! My heart is fluttering just thinking of him!! How lucky am I to have met him?? The universe works in mysterious ways!! I LOVE OLIVER!!
