Arrival Story:
Tobi was one of 5 kittens born to a friends cat. That cat was an unspayed inside & outside cat. All my cats have to stay inside until they are neutered or spayed and only then are they allowed outside. But anyways, he was the runt of the litter and the cutest little thing. My friend was allergic against cats and decided later to release all the cats at a barn far away where somebody was already feeding cats. I adopted Tobi without even knowing about her plans, just because he looked like he needed someone who cared! After I brought Tobi home, Cleo, my Dobi/Shepard mix took over. She loves kittens and bemothers them!!! It is so bad with her that she cannot even leave them out of her sight for a minute, her instincts are so strong. But back to Tobi. After a week of quaranteen I added Sheila to his room so he would not be so alone! Sheila was happy to be able to look after a little one. What she did not like was when Tobi grew bigger and started playing real rough with Sheila, biting and kicking her whenever he had the chance to! Sheila was sooo patient. Only some months later when he was still jumping at her, she bit him back. Tobi knwe exactly when she was mad and then he stopped. It was all a fun game for him!

Bio:
Most of his days Tobi spent outdoors. He loved being outside and going hunting with some friends! He was a real good hunter!!! His favourite self caught food was froglegs. I did not appreciate him leaving half eaten frogs around the house!!! but I loved him anyways! He was extremely friendly with dogs and loved people very much!!! Last fall (2006) he suddenly disappeared! We have no idea what could have happened to him. He was an amazing climber of trees and very agile. Maybe he got too friendly with a wolf or coyote, not knowing the difference between them and a domestic dog! It is not January 2007 and I am still not over the loss of Tobi. Every animal that either dies or gets missing breaks a piece off my heart and makes it bleed for quite some time. Eventually wounds heel and all that is left are the memories of good moments. I am so thankful about the time I could spend with each one of them. Tobi was so special because he had that bond with dogs that I had not seen before in a cat. He was my peacekeeper between the dogs and the cats and therefore it was very chaotic once he was gone! I am still hoping he might come back one day, but living out here in the wilderness surounded by fields and woods I know that animals often go missing. That is part of life. In Tobi's case I know that he at least had a good time while he was with us. If we would not have taken him in he would have ended up abondoned in a barn with many other cats (possible sick cats) and would have gotten into many fights with other unneutered males over who gets to breed which female. Tobi, you are missed a lot and dad and mom think about you every day! It is the not knowing what happens that makes things so much harder. I picture you somewhere in cat-heaven playing with Tiffy, Icy and Diesel! Thanks for sharing a short part of your life with us! We feel blessed!
