Mommy has been missing me a lot. The last few days have been especially tough on her. She likes to me picture me as a beautiful angel and that makes her feel happier sometimes. Krishna's Daddy on Catster gave me my lovely angel wings today. Mommy cried when she saw how beautiful I am now. Mommy I love you. I'll always be in your heart. ♥ ~Micah Angel

Today is one week to the day that your sweet soul flew away. We lit a candle for you my little lovebug and remembered you on your happiest of days. We miss you sweet Micah.

Micah passed away naturally at 6:45 AM today. He suffered a Thromboembolism on Tuesday night when we rushed him to the emergency hospital. It was diagnosed that he was in advanced stages of heart failure due to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). He had been hanging in there, still fighting hard the three times we went to see him on Wednesday. He was trying to pull himself up as if to tell us "let's get out of here, I'm ready to go home." We were hoping he would pull through despite the incredible odds. At least enough to come home and live out his remaining days with us and Jake.
At 4:15 AM the hospital called. They said he might be crashing and that we could come down and see him if we wanted. We were able to go see him one last time for about 45 minutes. He knew who we were, was very happy to see us and peaceful when we left. His tail would always get really puffed up like a raccoon when he was super happy and excited and he did it for us one last time as we were petting him and saying his name. It was really amazing considering he lost movement of his tail and back legs and a definite sign to us that he was so happy and comforted to see us. I think he was waiting for us to come back again before he decided to go peacefully to sleep and slipped into unconsciousness after we left. The doctor thinks that as the clot began to break up, a piece of it went to his lungs and that started a chain reaction to his heart. We're so heartbroken. Sweet Angel we'll see you again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Very late yesterday night we rushed Micah to the emergency hospital. He was acting completely normal until I heard him screaming from the hallway and dragging himself by his front legs. His back legs were limp. Once at the hospital he was placed in critical condition and diagnosed as having suffered an Arterial Thromboembolism. X-rays confirm that Micah has severe heart failure. Micah's diagnoses is very grim. We've been a complete mess since this happened. It was so unexpected especially considering what we're going through with Jake.
We went to see him in the morning. He looked really good. He’s a strong and determined boy. He kept trying to stand up as if to say, "I'm ready to leave now!" His blood work is normal. Electrolytes are not spilling into his bloodstream yet and his pulse is normal. He has a 50% chance of pulling through. We are waiting for the clot to dissolve naturally over the next few days. If he doesn’t have a heart attack from the toxins that were trapped in his leg (when they re-enter the bloodstream) the blood will flow back into his leg and he won’t be in such excruciating pain. (He's on hardcore painkillers now.) If he makes it through, he can come home and will regain the ability to walk. Most cats survive another a few weeks to a few months following an episode like this. That is all we can hope for. We would like him to die at home with us and Jake. He adores Jake. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.
When I spoke to the vet again this afternoon, Micah is the same (which is good, he's stable) They did a ultrasound on him and know he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. (The enlarging of the heart muscles.) We always say Micah is a lovebug, 100% love, his heart is literally bigger than most cats. We are preparing ourselves for the blood clot to dissolve to see if Micah can make it through this.
We just got back from visiting Micah again tonight. He's doing pretty much the same. He seemed a little more "with it" recognizing our voices and scent. Our sweet lovebug kept nuzzling up close to our faces and arms just wanting to fall asleep as though in our arms tonight...it broke our heart to leave him behind. We're just praying we're able to bring him home for his last days....

I can hardly believe it! I was voted BUD OF THE WEEK by Navin and Buds! Navin is one of my really good friends. His mommy started the group called Navin and Buds. Navin is a real cool cat. He's at the Rainbow Bridge but he is quite active in our group. Being named BOTW is such an honor! First I was named Bud of the Day on Sunday and then I was voted Bud of the Week! As soon as Mommy found out she and Daddy were hugging me like crazy and catgratulating me. Even Jake was nice to me this morning and let me lay in the window seat with him and groomed my head. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to go outside with Mommy and Daddy this weekend. I deserve it, after all I am Cat of the Week right?!

Mommy finally found an awesome picture of Spongebob to put up on my page! He is all glittery and shiny! Spongebob is my favorite! I just love watching the shows with mommy and daddy. He has such a super attitude just like me! I like everything about Spongebob from his color (bright yellow) to his awesome square shape and cool outfits. All he wants to do is have fun jellyfishing, working at the crusty crab and helping other people. (If you didn't notice mommy made me yellow like him in my pop art pic, wink wink) Most of all I like his eyes, bright blue just like mine... He is lucky to have a best friend like Patrick. I have my brother Jake so I am pretty lucky too but I think Jake is more like Squidward than Patrick. (Don't tell him I told you that.) Sometimes he is grumpy like Squidward and doesn't want me to bug him. I don't let that get me down though! I usually figure he is just playing hard to get so I sometimes bite him on the neck. hehehe.

I got to eat the most yummy food I've ever tasted. I have to say I liked it as much as Tuna. Jake didn't like it AT ALL even though he loves Tuna. That didn't bother me one bit, all the more for me! He didn't even want to try one piece. They are called King Crab Legs. I don't know what a crab is and I didn't see any king either. Mommy and Daddy brought it home from the grocery store and it smelled so good! I could barely contain myself. I was crying and jumping all over the place! Did I mention that I LOVE seafood of any kind? Daddy gave me lots of tiny pieces to eat. It was absolutely DE-licious! After I ate it Jake told me my breath stunk though. He can be so mean sometimes. He is always trying to clean my face and head. Big brothers can be SO annoying sometimes, but I still love him!
