indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: It was on a cold February morning (-25Degree Celsius) when my husband, the sweety went to take the car for a drive around the block so it would warm up for me because I had to go to work (1 hour drive). We had snow at that time and he drove by a piece of what he thought was dirty snow that had fallen off somebody's car?! On his way back 3 minutes later it was still there and he stopped to look what it was. It turned out to be a cat that was frozen to the ground!!! He wrapped her up in his coat and rushed home. The sweet thing about that tragedy was that a couple of days before we had decided to not take on any more animals for a while! He came in the door with the cat in his arms and said:" Honey, please don't be mad at me...but I found a cat!" I had to smile when he said that because usually I am the one bringing home strays. I think that was his first street rescue at that time!! ;-) I had to go to work but he had time to take the cat to the vet right away and when he phone me at work he sayed that the Vet had confirmed that the cat did not have another couple of hours to live that day if we would not have taken her in. My husband had to raise her bodytemperature VERY slowly so her heart would adjust. When I came home that day I immediately went to our guestroom where we keep all our new arrivals for some days to look at the cat. I realized pretty soon that the cat was blind!!! Luckily it turned out later that she was only snowblind and her eyesight actually came back. But she also had a weird tale. It felt like she has had a rubber band wrapped around it at some point, but there was nothing to see. Her tail was very stiff and over the next months it got even stiffer. The Vet said that he would not do anything with it because he was afraid that he would damage a nerve and paralyse her so we waited. I always said that I did not want to be the one who finds the tail, but of corse it was me who did find it. It had just fallen off. There was no open wound on the tip of what was left over from he tail. It had healed perfectly. So that was our arrival story with Sheila. Bio: The reason why Sheila also has the name Cassie is very simply! My husband did computer support for a company in Toronto at that time and he used to talk to one of his clients about our animals, because this client also loves animals and has rescued several cats over the years herself. Loreta was so generous to take over the food costs for Sheila with a monthly donation. Oh and the reason why the cat has 2 names is because Loreta had decided to call her Cassie so we do, but she still better listens to Sheili, so we call her both names! ;-) Thanks Loreta for your support!!!!!! Because of you it was that much easier to still take on another little life!!!! Forums Motto: Sheila- Miss Molly Music: fdgfd
