Doggie Dynamics:

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

December 1st 1993

walks, running, soft treats, Milkbone cookies, mango, rawhide shoes and mom.

when someone gets too close to the house, or when someone knocks at the door, fireworks and thunder scared the living day lights out of me. I don't like the mailman, but what dog does?

Favorite Toy:
a large stuffed dog that I gave her for Christmas years ago.

Favorite Food:
she no longer eats dog food, she loves ground beef boiled with barley, peas and corn and rice and a little garlic salt, thickened with a little flour.

Favorite Walk:
used to be along the waterfront by the yacht club or along the beach, now it's in our neighborhood, she knows it well, makes it easy for her since she lost her eyesite.

Best Tricks:
sit, give mom your paw, begs on her hine legs, blinks her eyes for yes when asked a question (now only 1 eye, since she lost the other one)

Arrival Story:
I got Casey from a breeder about an hour away from here. She was 7 weeks old. (It was the first time looking for a dog and I didn't know anything about shelters and about all the poor dogs waiting for homes.) I know now and feel bad about looking for a breeder. She was the last of her litter to go. Must have been because of one of her ears flips back. I think that makes her very special. I always tell her that I got the "best" one of them all. I was so lucky to find her. "My Little Angel"

My father was a pomeranian, my mother was miniature poodle. Which makes me a Pom-a-poo. I lost my eyesite when I was 7 years old due to something mom calls diabetis and she has to give me a needle every morning. I usually go and hide in the bathroom when I know it's coming 'cause I don't like it. Mom hates needles too but she is pretty good at giving them. She scratches the area first so I can hardly tell that its done. ....I still love to run with mom when we go for our walks. As soon as we get to the end of our driveway, I start to run and somedays mom finds it hard to keep up with me. I act more like a puppy now than I ever did. I lost my left eye a few months ago due to an infection. I had to wear one of those crazy lamp shades on my head so I couldn't touch the area. Mom took it off every time she was home and watched me constantly. She knew I didn't like it. ....I'm a pretty tough girl. I still throw my toys around and always want to play. Mom has a small box for my favorite things and I always know where they are in the house, and just like a kid, I leave a mess all over the place for mom to pick up. Sometimes I put my big stuffed dog in the middle of the room and then trip over it when I forget it's there. I think to myself, in the heck did that get there. After I bump in to it mom always says...youuuuu put it there! It's like she knows what I was thinking. ~~~~~~~~~Update~~~~~~~~~ Mom had to let me go 2 weeks after my 14th birthday on December 15th, 2007. I was having multiple seizures and couldn't take much more. She was the best mom in the world and will miss me forever, until we can be together once again. It was the hardest thing she ever had to do in her entire life and no one will ever take my place in her heart. My last days

As some of you may know, I was bursting with energy my whole life. Everyone would think I was still a puppy. Always running and throwing my toys around and wanting mom to play ball with me.

On my 14th birthday, mom gave me a new BIG stuffed dog, all wrapped up. I opened it myself, just as I always have. I love opening gifts!! It was the first time my youngest niece and baby nephew saw me do that. They were amazed to see that a dog could do it to.

That night I had a pretty bad seizure while in bed with mom. She said I was crying during it. (I never remember much about it afterwards). It broke her heart 'cause she said I never made crying sounds like that before. The next morning I was walking around the house like I didn't know where I was. I got better as the day went on. I started getting tired after that.

Everytime we went for a walk after that, I wasn't as excited as I used to be. Mom would have to pick me up and carry me the rest of the way home. She loved to carry me and always told me that it was "OK".

It was 2 weeks after that I had another seizure at night. Then while mom was at work, I had another one. After supper that evening I had one at 6:15 and another one at 9:15. I was scared and mom was very worried and crying. The animal hospital was closed at this time of the night and the weather was bad for driving to the all night night emergency place. So we went to bed but never slept a wink. I had one more seizure at 12:20, just after midnight. Mom knew I couldn't take much more. She knew what had to be done. I was so confused, I kept almost falling off the bed. For my safety, we stayed the rest of the night on the floor with lots of pillows and blankets around.

We got up early, I was very tired. I didn't want anything and was just standing in the middle of the floor. Mom laid me down.

As some of you know, I always communicated with mom by blinking my eyes when I wanted to say "YES". Mom said that the dogtor was going to help me sleep. She asked me if I was ready to go to sleep?? I blinked my eye for her so she would know that I was ready. She cried so much, then called the dogtor. I sat on her lap in the car on the way there, wrapped up in one of my little blankets. Mom held me in her arms as I fell asleep. Now I'm at the Rainbow Bridge and my eyes can see again and I don't need anymore medicine. I miss my mom and all my family and friends and can't wait 'til we can be together again. "Believe"
