Arrival Story: Almost 16 years ago, I was living in California with my husband. We had a small apartment with no washer/dryer. We had been looking for a kitten to join our family (of people, fish, and 2 mice). We had seen many kittens and while they were all wonderful, they weren't Bill. I went to the laundromat one day and while I was waiting for my clothes to wash I went to the pet store in the same strip mall. I walked in and could hear a kitten crying at the back of the store. I got 10 feet from him and knew...just knew he was my cat!!! I rushed to the payphone (I am aging myself, this is before the era of cellphones) to call my then boyfriend and let him know that I had found our cat. I went back to the store and took a close look at him. He was the cutest, tiny black and white kitten. He had large blue eyes and wonderful ears. His tail was all wet from sitting in the water bowl and he was frantically licking it between meows. Come to find out, Bill often gets his tail wet from various places and doesn't even notice that his tail is floating in the water. Anyway, the woman who worked at the shop said he had been crying non-stop since his sister/litter-mate had been adopted the day before. I grabbed him up immediately and took him home. For "dog people" both of us took to Bill immediately. He quickly became the center of our lives.
Bio: He has moved with us from California to Texas, Colorado and now Maryland. What can I say about Bill. He is the alpha cat, always has been. He takes this job very seriously! He loves his brother and sisters to death. Bill is getting old and you can see it now in his body. He started to loose weight at the end of 2000. We had been gone for a month adopting our son in Kazakhstan and when we got home I noticed some weight loss. I thought he had just missed us. 2001 was a very busy year, as I had gotten pregnant in Kaz and ended up delivering Bill's human brother Sagan 4 months too early. Sagan the baby was sick for a long time in the hospital and I wasn't able to focus on the cats during that time (we also had two other children under 3). So, we moved to Maryland in 2002 and became concerned with Bill's weight loss. We brought him to the specialist at VCA who diagnosed him with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is different in cats than humans and it is basically that he is allergic to all the meats that he has eaten in the past...beef, chicken, lamb, fish. So, we tried lamb and duck and venison...he liked them at first and then refused to eat them. At one point, our lovely former 15 lb. cat got down to 6 lbs. Believe me, he is a big cat and looks like a skeleten with bones. So, now we feed him whatever he will eat 10 times a day and give him steroids to make him hungry. He doing OK now, but you can see that he is winding down. We don't know how long he has, but we cherish every moment. He will turn 16 at the end of the month and we are so grateful to have had him and adored him for so many years. We are taking it day-to-day now, judging how he is feeling and letting him tell us what he needs. He is so sweet, loving and loyal. He gets excited whenever his Mommy gets home from work and snuggles with me for as long as I will snuggle. He is a big rubber and head-butter. He is a vigourous puurrrer! There are not enough words to describe what this wonderful little creature/family member means to all of us.

This is so much fun!!! My family has been tagged by a bunch of awesome cats!!!
So, here are the rules for those cats that are new at the game:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

AAwww Geez, as usual, Navin posted his diary first and spilled the beans on all the great details of our cool safari with the fab Steve Irwin!! Not that I'm complaining really, since it would never have entered my mind to go on such a cool trip...like a safari...if it weren't for super Coug Navin!!! Chester and Hugo had such a blast and Hugo and I actually wore safari hats!! I never would have believed that I would wear a hat. Navin looked so awesome in his safari suit! A complete natural! We were laughing at him as he tried to take on the elephant and then realized that you they aren't meant to be eaten!!
I am having so much fun here. I miss my family and my wonderful Amelia, but my friends here have made it wonderful!! And, I visit Amelia and my family all the time. I know that Amelia knows I am there and I know that my Mom senses me too, since she is always talking to me...without realizing she has said my name!!
Well, I see a group of butterflies and bubblebees going by and I just have to chase them!! I will be stopping in to the Sadie Hawkins Dance at Navin and Buds...that should be such a blast. I already got an awesome anonymous Rosette with a super cute black cat strutting her stuff!!
By the way, I know that Navin thinks he is chubby, but I have to tell you, the girls are mad for him here!!!
I am so sorry to have been such a slacker, but as one of my good friends said, I have been feeling so good for the first time in many years, that I just can't stop for anything. I must say that meeting Navin has been the experience of a lifetime! The guy is hilarious and you should see how he prances around with those tails! I must say, that he makes a dashing figure in all of his tails and also when he wears his magic pants (I have to say, that he is a shameless flirt and uses those pants to his advantage)! Boomer, Chester, Brandy, Baby and Shamus and Navin and I have been spending a lot of time together and we are having so much fun! Navin introduced us to Steve Irwin a couple of days ago, boy, what a character he is! I think his accent is so cool, but he has the crocs on the run...
It is really beautiful up here. The colors are truly amazing and I have never seen so many bubblebees and butterflies! My fur is thick and black again...and I am a little chubby like I use to be. I also have fur on my ears once again! Who would ever have thought.
I am so grateful to Navin and all my friends here who have taken the time to tell my family and friends how I am doing. I feel bad that I have been such a slacker...and no Mom, there is nothing wrong with my typing paw...its just that I am feeling so good and having so much fun!
Now, I am not as poetic as Navin, but I will try to give updates from here at the bridge. By the way, I went with Navin one day to check on Trinity and boy is she cute!! She is also getting really fast, and Navin is getting a little concerned about being able to keep up!
So, some news...I have sent my family a gift (well, some gifts)...you should have seen the looks on their faces when they got them. I will let Sagan tell all of you what I sent them...he says he will tell you tomorrow!
Oopps...here comes a flock of butterflies..I can't resist and need to fly after them! Talk to you soon, I love you all very much and I do miss you!!
