Arrival Story:
Austin was abandoned on the front steps of the vet clinic I work at with 4 siblings. They were left taped in a cardboard box with no food, water, or even air holes! (some people are so cruel!) He was the runt, although you couldn't tell it by looking at him now, and he was so darn affectionate & adorable that I had no choice but to bring him home with me.

Bio:
He used to love being at work with me when he was a kitten (he'd ride around in my scrub pockets) but now that he's older he hates going to the vet! Austin accidentally got out of my apartment a couple of years ago and was missing for 5 days. Thank goodness he had his collar & tags on and was found by someone that called me. Ever since then Austin has been quite content with being an indoor kitty. He is shy around strangers and hates a crowded house, but once he gets to know you he is quite a lover. He does have one very peculiar behavior. He likes to play in any plastic bag but there is something about plastic bags that come from Old Navy that he likes more than any other. He will actually lick them. And not just once or twice but he is obsessive about it! If I left him alone I think he would go at it for hours. I don't know what it is but there is something special about Old Navy's plastic bags that is a huge attraction for Austin. He is also the "nanny cat". Whenever kittens come to stay with us he takes over as caregiver. He has a very nurturing soul.

Guess what I was just doing? I'll give you a clue, what is the most funnest, thrilling activity you can think of? That's right, playing in a plastic bag! There isn't anything out there more fun in the whole world! No other toy brings hours of excitement quite like bags do. What other toy is as multifunctional? They are noise makers, hiding places, cozy nap spots, wrestling partners, tobogans, and whatever else your imagination can dream up! I love to sit in them and wait for my brother or sister to walk by so that I can ambush them. I love how they are so light I can toss them in the air and then pounce on them as they land. And most of all I L-O-V-E the way they taste! I don't tear it up into pieces and swallow it I just love to lick and lick and lick the bags. Oh the great times I've had! So for all you kitties out there that have never experienced the joy of plastic bags, find one now!! Beg your parents! Steal them from the trash can! Whatever it takes! I promise you won't be disappointed! Now if you'll excuse me, it's time that I got back to my bag. My sister is getting too close it and I've got to protect my property!
