Arrival Story:
Last August, when I was a really tiny kitten, I somehow got out on my own and I found myself in the middle of a busy road. I had been there for a while and I was so hot and thirsty that I couldn’t even move. I had been fighting off a bunch of ants but finally I couldn’t even do that; so they were crawling all over me and they really hurt. Cars kept running over the top of me but the wheels were missing me. Then a big red fire truck drove over me without hitting me with his tires. I heard the truck stop then a fireman walked up and looked at me. He picked me up and brushed off the ants which made me feel better but I still couldn’t move. The fireman took me back to the fire station and put me in a box in a cool place. He put these cold towels on me and I tried to move my head but I still couldn’t. He had this mask thing that he put over my head and it was blowing air in my face. It made it a lot easier to breath. Then he put this straw in my mouth and there was water in it. I had a hard time swallowing it at first but when I did it tasted so good. I was feeling a little better but I was still too tired to do anything but sleep. The fireman woke me up sometimes to give me new towels and more water. The next day he took me to the doctor and they put this needle in my arm and put me in a cage. They thought I was really little and cute and they checked on me a lot. I started feeling better and better and in a few days I was up and running around in my cage. My mommy came and picked me up and took me home to live with my new family. Now I am getting to be a big boy and I am really healthy except that I still can’t talk. I don’t know why I can’t talk sometimes when I try I make a little squeaky noise but I can’t make meow sounds like the others. But everybody still seems to understand me.
