Do any other meezers like baths? Apparently us cats are supposed to hate water. Nobody told me!
On Saturday, my Mummy was in the bath and she has to have the door open otherwise Yao-Lin and I wait outside the door and scratch and howl (just for fun).
I was sat on the edge of the bath and I could see lots of bubbles from the stuff mummy poured in and it all looked like it was swirling and I thought it would be fun to see what it was like to sit where Mummy was. I slowly stepped down and sat on her knee and then I put two paws in the water. Then I quickly jumped out - I didnt' like it! It was wet and not that much fun at all. I only wanted to catch the bubbles, I didn't anticipate getting wet!!!
Mummy found it really funny and so did Yao-Lin. Meanies!
Any cats out there like water?

It has to be said, I am just oh-so-very-incredibly-cute! I get told that ALL the time! Whenever people come over to the house, they always comment on my beautiful stripes and gorgeous blue eyes.
I am also told that I am incredibly naughty. My favourite trick at the moment is to pull down the net curtains. It is especially funny when the act of doing this knocks down every ornament and book in sight. Mayhem! Hurrah!
I have taken an aversion to music - well, to be more specific, to the acoustic guitar. When my Daddy plays guitar I have to shout at him! I hate the noise more than I hate the hoover! I don't discriminate, however - I hate Mummy playing the guitar equally. They laugh as I sit and growl and shout at them when they play . It wouldn't be nearly so bad if they were to play some decent music but they don't - they usually play Oasis or Nirvana. I prefer Cat Stevens but they don't know any of his songs. *sigh*
Mummy and I watched big brother last night. We think Jade goody and the other two hags are evil! I even got up and batted the television a few times, just to show how strongly I feel.
yesterday I ate a whole rump steak to myself. It was delicious. With my ever expanding girth, I am gaining strength and agility. I now have the strength to sleep for longer periods and am more agile at stealing all of the food in the bowl. Ha ha.
Anyway, must dash, Mummy has the orange mouse and I am going to race yao-Lin for it!

Well, what can I say?
My name is Mao, or baby Mao as my mummy affectionately calls me. I am quite a character, or so my human parents say.
I joined the household in October and, from the minute I was picked up and driven in the car, I had an air of nonchalance about me. I have heard tales that it is traumatic to be introduced to a new home with new animals and people but, I have to admit, I just didn't care! I didn't meow, not even once!
Despite a confrontation with a huge scary growling siamese ( my brother), I didn't bat an eyelid. I was a quarter of his size and for some unknown reason, he was extremely aggressive towards me. Good job I was resilient because I just ignored him and set about exploring my new home.
Overnight, I worked my charm on him - encouraging him to play and explore - the next morning my mummy woke up to find us jumping around having fun. What did she expect?
With an appetite for fillet steak and lamb chops, I settled in quickly when I realised the food in my new home was real al a carte - mummy even gets up every morning and gives us fresh meat from the butchers. She says we eat more nutritous meals than she does but then, I do like the odd bit of human food and would eat cheese daily if I were allowed. Mummy says I waddle when I walk but I don't know what she means.
Yao-lin and I get along fantastically - he was very unhappy before as he was alone all day when mummy and daddy went out to hunt. He has company now and the pair of us constantly playfight, explore, get into trouble, knock ornaments over. Sometimes, when we are hungry and mummy is cooking our dinners, we take it in turns to launch ourselves onto her back and scramble up like she is a tree. I managed to pull down her pyjama bottoms once! Mwa ha ha! She finds this painful but we find it highly amusing!
I am teething at the moment and keep chewing my brother's ear - he doesn't mind although he will snap when he has had enough!
Mummy was amazed when she threw the orange mouse and I brought it straight back to her first time - she didn't even have to train me. She says I play fetch with more gusto than my brother (who gets bored after five minutes) - I would happily play fetch all day if I could!
Anyway, I must be off, I have playfighting and curtain climbing to do - I do enjoy abseiling down the curtains onto my sleeping humans faces, it is exceptionally funny. Just not for them!
