My devious Mom .......

Well, I LOVE my Mom, but here lately she is really trying my patience. Most evenings she slithers down on the floor with me and I KNOW she is hiding that darned comb and a pair of scissors to try to get my BEAUTIFUL hair detangled. SIGH! I must admit she is fairly gentle and it beats having to go to the vet and getting sheared. But, I sure don't like it. I don't scratch my Mom ... her heart is in the right place and she is as gentle as she can be. We both rejoiced when she got the hair on my back and sides tangle-free ... but now she is gearing up for the tummy area. THAT is going to be a battle I HOPE to win. Mom is good, if she combs one night, she lets my skin and hair "rest" for a couple of days and then tries again, so I don't get real sore. I am glad for that. But! We ARE making progress. Please keep me in your thoughts ... having these tangles is just NOT my idea of "FUN!" And, Tam has to get his nose in everything and that just REALLY makes it worse. Mom has already groomed him and he looks great ... but his hair is not as thick as mine! But, he acts like he MUST "supervise" when Mom is cutting my hair. Humph!!!! Younger housemates can be a "pain" sometimes, but I must admit I do feel more like playing since Mom has been working on the tangles! Wish me luck!!!!! =^..^=

New house for US .....

Well, Mom has been trying to find time to let everyone know we have a new house. They picked it out "just for us" ... truly, that is true. We heard Mom tell the Realtor that she HAD to have a room in the new house for us. Fortunately, he is an animal person and knew how important we are to the family! We have a "time out" room, which is REALLY fun. Tall cabinets to jump up on and a window to look out to see the birds ... so we really don't mind "time out!" >^!!^< We have more room to run in and LOTS of "hiding places" to drive Mom crazy. It is one of our daily pastimes. Since the new home is larger, there is more echoing, so when a storm is coming (which is rare for our region of the country) we can feel it coming and you just see a streak of black and white and grey and white taking off for the bed. Don't know why we think the bed is going to "protect us," but it seems like a logical place to "hide" until the storms pass. Plus it drives Mom "nuts!" That is fun enough!
We moved to our new house in January and we walked right out of our pet taxis right to "exploring" ... no slithering for Tam and myself. We are brave kitties ... but not spoiled as most will say! NOT in the least! Kitty giggles!
Purrs to all from,
Rebel

We are so excited that we are chasing one another through the house, aka "creating chaos!" But we LOVE to "bug" Mom. How nice and extremely kind of Catster to give us a "quirky turkey" ... we keep trying catch him, but he keeps moving on us. I looked at Mom and asked "why," ... she just said "for your amusement!" No help at all is she? >^!!^<
But we do thank Catster for the Quirky Turkey and we want to congratulate all of you beautiful cats and dogs that are in the final competition for "the Best!" We have voted and are excited to see who will be the winners this year. Good luck to all of you.
Many thanks to Catster for having such a FUN time and thank you most of all to Catster for the "Quirky Turkey!"
Kitty purrs,
Rebel ... and, yes, Tam, as well!

Well, we had some "excitement!"

On Sunday, a neighbor kitty thought she should be a member of our family. Poor kitty, her "mom" had gone away for a few days and didn't leave her with any food, so she met our "Mom and Dad" at the door and was "yowling" at the top of her poor little lungs. Mom and Dad petted her and said "loving things" to her, BUT she was NOT impressed with that only. Mom and Dad came in the house and the neighbor kitty sat at our door yowling. You Siamese kitties know how to vocalize yourselves to get your way ... wish I had that kind of "meow," ... Sigh! But! I digress! Anyway "Baby" ... we THINK that is her name, sat at our front door letting it be known that she was NOT going anywhere. Finally Mom grabbed a can of our "high-priced food" and gave it to Dad (Tam and I just sat there looking at one another thinking "Hey!") Anyway, Dad took the can of food ... thankfully it was NOT a flavor we wanted at that particular moment and went next door and fed Baby in her own yard. Poor, poor kitty. Anyway, "Baby" was satisfied and several hours later, after being "left home alone" Baby's family came back, so we guess she got even more food! Tam hid under the dining table, as he can't hear all that well, but when he heard Baby's cry, it scared him. After the yowling stopped, he FINALLY came out from under the table. I went from window to window in search of "Baby!" Sigh! We NEVER have that kind of excitement too often, so it was a "fun" experience for me. Tam, however was NOT amused!
At least Baby was fed ... and we did our "neighborly duty!"

I am going to be left alone with Tam .....

Yep, Mom and Poppa are going away for a few days and I am going to left alone with "the Tamster" ... woe is me! Mom finally added some new photos of Tam to his page today ... not bad for a "kid kitty!" But, NOT as pretty as ME! Meow!!!! But, Mom assures me that she is going to add more pics of me in the next day or two, which will be nice! I think there are some that might give you a different look regarding "my life with Tam!" Meow!
Mom says I don't stay still long enough to get a good picture of me. I wonder about the rationality of that ... Kitty laughs!
Anyway, we hope you will check out our newest pictures and more will be forthcoming!
Kitty hugs and purrs .... Rebel >>^..^

Update on Mom's "threat!"

Meow! =^,,^=
Just as I suspected, Mom DID NOT follow thru with the "threat" on taking our cat food allowance out of the money she spent for Poppa's Father's Day dinner. In fact, Mom has been WAYY too busy this week to pay attention to Tam and I. She had a friend whose father passed away, so that took away from her time at the computer. Then she said that Tam and I had been on the computer too much as it (the computer) was "acting up," ... funny, she says that about Tam and myself. Oh, well, we were not able to be on the computer this week, which was NO fun at all.
It is HOT, HOT, HOT where we are, so Tam and I "play and chase" each other in the early morning and then just lay "still" during the hot time of the day. It's not too bad with the air conditioner and ceiling fans. Glad we are not "outside" kitties. I guess, in all honesty, we are rather "spoiled!" But, Mom says that is okay! And I AGREE!
Ok, Mom has said that it is time to "go nite-nite, so I will sign off for tonight, my friends. Tam will be the next one to post to our diaries. He REALLY enjoys doing that! =^!!^=

Rebel's Ramblings .....

Meoow, to all my Catster Feline Friends!
I hear Mom saying that it was time for me to start my own diary ... I should THINK so, since I AM the oldest and the prettiest kitty in the family! Meoow! But, I realize it was important for Tam to start his diary first, as he seems to have FUN with all his Catster friends!
What shall I tell you, since Tam has already told you that Mom had to leave this week? Oh, yeah! While Mom was gone, Tam and I had an inside "adventure," ... we don't go outside! Poppa let a fly in the house, by accident, and goodness did Tam and I have fun chasing it. We never did catch it, but we had FUN and it kept our minds off of Mom being gone and not at our "beckoned call!"
Whenever Mom is gone, I LOVE to give Poppa a challenge (it doesn't work on Mom,) but I turned my nose up at food with Poppa. It was fun watching him trying to find something he thought I would eat. (Confidentially, I will eat most anything in the Science Diet line, but I do enjoy the fish the most!) Poppa wasn't giving me the fish, so I decided I would "con" him and I just made him feed me away from my regular place and that drove him crazy! It was ENTERAINING! I guess that shows I am pretty spoiled, but to tell the truth, it would NOT have worked with Mom! In fact, when Poppa told Mom about that, she said she was treating Poppa to Father's Day Dinner "out" and it MIGHT be taken out of the cat-food fund ... I am sure Tam mentioned that. I haven't told him, but Mom won't hold to that "threat!" Meoww!
>^..^< I don't THINK ... maybe I better rethink that thought!
Oh, well, it is time for my nap before the last meal of the night, so I will sign off, get some beauty sleep so I can go back to "eating and sleeping" some more!
I will post more after Father's Day, to let you know if Mom follows thru with the "threat" of treating Poppa with our cat-food money!
Kitty hugs from,
The Rebster!
