Rebel's Ramblings .......
My devious Mom .......August 10th 2010 10:21 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Well, I LOVE my Mom, but here lately she is really trying my patience. Most evenings she slithers down on the floor with me and I KNOW she is hiding that darned comb and a pair of scissors to try to get my BEAUTIFUL hair detangled. SIGH! I must admit she is fairly gentle and it beats having to go to the vet and getting sheared. But, I sure don't like it. I don't scratch my Mom ... her heart is in the right place and she is as gentle as she can be. We both rejoiced when she got the hair on my back and sides tangle-free ... but now she is gearing up for the tummy area. THAT is going to be a battle I HOPE to win. Mom is good, if she combs one night, she lets my skin and hair "rest" for a couple of days and then tries again, so I don't get real sore. I am glad for that. But! We ARE making progress. Please keep me in your thoughts ... having these tangles is just NOT my idea of "FUN!" And, Tam has to get his nose in everything and that just REALLY makes it worse. Mom has already groomed him and he looks great ... but his hair is not as thick as mine! But, he acts like he MUST "supervise" when Mom is cutting my hair. Humph!!!! Younger housemates can be a "pain" sometimes, but I must admit I do feel more like playing since Mom has been working on the tangles! Wish me luck!!!!! =^..^=
New house for US .....May 27th 2009 8:45 am[ Leave A Comment ]
Well, Mom has been trying to find time to let everyone know we have a new house. They picked it out "just for us" ... truly, that is true. We heard Mom tell the Realtor that she HAD to have a room in the new house for us. Fortunately, he is an animal person and knew how important we are to the family! We have a "time out" room, which is REALLY fun. Tall cabinets to jump up on and a window to look out to see the birds ... so we really don't mind "time out!" >^!!^< We have more room to run in and LOTS of "hiding places" to drive Mom crazy. It is one of our daily pastimes. Since the new home is larger, there is more echoing, so when a storm is coming (which is rare for our region of the country) we can feel it coming and you just see a streak of black and white and grey and white taking off for the bed. Don't know why we think the bed is going to "protect us," but it seems like a logical place to "hide" until the storms pass. Plus it drives Mom "nuts!" That is fun enough!
Thank you Catster!!!November 17th 2008 9:10 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
We are so excited that we are chasing one another through the house, aka "creating chaos!" But we LOVE to "bug" Mom. How nice and extremely kind of Catster to give us a "quirky turkey" ... we keep trying catch him, but he keeps moving on us. I looked at Mom and asked "why," ... she just said "for your amusement!" No help at all is she? >^!!^<
Well, we had some "excitement!"October 21st 2008 11:00 am[ Leave A Comment ]
On Sunday, a neighbor kitty thought she should be a member of our family. Poor kitty, her "mom" had gone away for a few days and didn't leave her with any food, so she met our "Mom and Dad" at the door and was "yowling" at the top of her poor little lungs. Mom and Dad petted her and said "loving things" to her, BUT she was NOT impressed with that only. Mom and Dad came in the house and the neighbor kitty sat at our door yowling. You Siamese kitties know how to vocalize yourselves to get your way ... wish I had that kind of "meow," ... Sigh! But! I digress! Anyway "Baby" ... we THINK that is her name, sat at our front door letting it be known that she was NOT going anywhere. Finally Mom grabbed a can of our "high-priced food" and gave it to Dad (Tam and I just sat there looking at one another thinking "Hey!") Anyway, Dad took the can of food ... thankfully it was NOT a flavor we wanted at that particular moment and went next door and fed Baby in her own yard. Poor, poor kitty. Anyway, "Baby" was satisfied and several hours later, after being "left home alone" Baby's family came back, so we guess she got even more food! Tam hid under the dining table, as he can't hear all that well, but when he heard Baby's cry, it scared him. After the yowling stopped, he FINALLY came out from under the table. I went from window to window in search of "Baby!" Sigh! We NEVER have that kind of excitement too often, so it was a "fun" experience for me. Tam, however was NOT amused!
I am going to be left alone with Tam .....August 4th 2008 7:59 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Yep, Mom and Poppa are going away for a few days and I am going to left alone with "the Tamster" ... woe is me! Mom finally added some new photos of Tam to his page today ... not bad for a "kid kitty!" But, NOT as pretty as ME! Meow!!!! But, Mom assures me that she is going to add more pics of me in the next day or two, which will be nice! I think there are some that might give you a different look regarding "my life with Tam!" Meow!
