Arrival Story: I got Electra when she was a feral teen brought to a Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon clinic. I was doing transfers in a bathroom of the building we were using, an old bank building under remodel. Electra was in a trap with another kitten. I was to transfer her out to another trap prior to her spay surgery. She got away from me. There'd been changes in the building since we last used it. Beneath a piece of plywood in that bathroom was a whole lot of open wiring. Electra darted up into that tangle of wiring. Had she bitten or clawed through a live wire, she not only would have been electrocuted, but could have started a fire and burned down the building. So I shut down the entire building's power by turning off the main circuit. Then I reached into the wiring mass while standing on a folding chair in the dark. I got a hold on her scruff, but not a good hold. She was able to turn her head and bite me through the thumbnail. But I held on anyhow. She was spayed. Due to FCCO policy, she would need quaranteened for ten days. I had only one other cat at the time, so I said I'd take her home. Electra loves me. She is no longer a teen of course.
