Arrival Story:
Siskiyu was one of 32 cats I removed from Albany's homeless Camp Boondoggle. The City of Albany decided to evict homeless campers and bulldoze the longstanding homeless camp. To access the camps, to get out the dozens of unfixed cats left behind by campers, I had to crawl over two trains sitting on the switching yards. To get back out, with cats, same thing, only this time, I'd need to hoist the cats up, hopefully onto train flat cars, then pull myself up, crawl over the train and hop down, then reach up for the cat in the carrier or trap. This was mid summer and very hot, too. Siskiyu was one of the first 11 cats I removed from Rick and Hillbilly's hooch. The first eleven also included Misty and her four kittens and Stormy, with her two kittens, one of them she'd stolen from another mother. They also included Siletz and Long Tom. Hillbilly and Rick had 13 cats in total at their camp alone. Big Ben, one of the other two, I trapped later on. And Big Billy, I trapped and got fixed when he showed up later at a nearby house, looking for food.

Bio:
Siskiyu was adopted by a Florence, OR couple, who love her very much. I have not seen her since then, but the couple has stopped by here, to chat, when on their way farther north.
