New House

My family just moved to a new house! It is a little bigger than our old house. It is also older, and Mom says it has 'character'. I don't know what that means, but I love that there is a basement laundry room that is ALL MINE! I can go down there anytime I want and the best part is, the dog doesn't like the stairs so she NEVER goes down there! It's like having my own room. There are lots of cool things to look at outside, like trees and birds and squirrels. I think I am going to like it here!

Trauma!

The other day while Mom was at the store, I was playing and tried to climb up on the hamper in the bathroom. It fell over on one of my back paws and it HURT! When Mom came home, she saw that I had bled all over the house... I couldn't help it! She put me in my carrier and off we went to the vet. I didn't like the stuff they cleaned my paw with, it stung(!) - but it made me feel better. I had to take some medicine for a few days and now I am as good as new!

I'm a little wary of that hamper, though...

One more step towards world domination...

I just found out that my mom's mom (M2) is getting a British Shorthair like me! This is all part of the plan - apparently when my Mom took me over to M2's house, M2 fell in love with me and then went about finding a British Shorthair for herself.

There may be some issues with authority that I will have to iron out - this new cat is an adult, which means that it may think that it will have seniority. NOT SO! Don't worry, I can handle it...

I want out!

I have been looking out the window for awhile now, and I think I want to go outside. Mom won't let me! Sadie (the dog) gets to go out SEVERAL times a day. I can't imagine what she is doing out there, but I know she doesn't appreciate it like I would. Mom told me that she promised the people I came from that I would NEVER go outside. Why would she make such a promise!?!?! She says the only way I can go out would be to wear a harness - I don't think so - or sit in some contraption that she showed me on the internet. It looks ridiculous, so I won't be getting in THAT!

I just want to feel the grass between my claws, but I guess it is not to be...

Not sure about the dog...

I'm Dozer, and I am sooo glad my Mom decided to let me keep a diary - I have lots to say about the dog in my house. First of all, Sadie is pretty, but she's got nothing on me! She will just have to get used to it. Some other things are going to change around here, too. For instance, her ice cube fixation - she acts like EVERY piece of ice that comes out of the freezer is hers, if it isn't in Mom's glass. Hey, I like to bat a little ice around the kitchen - I find it relaxing. She came up and ATE my ice yesterday, while I was playing with it! Didn't even stop to consider that maybe it was my toy! My Mom just laughs and thinks it's cute - but Sadie is going to have to learn some manners. There's a new sheriff in town!
