One year ago today my beloved old Charlie boy left me.He started out as that little farm kitten and wiggled his way into our hearts. He was a grump but he was such a mama's boy. He adored me and my now 20+ son Ryan.Yes he was a old fart for sure but he was such a goof! He was as my daughters good friend calls him "A cartoon cat", she called him that the first day she met him. She always thought that Charlie's meow just sounded so bizzar! And it was it truly did sound kind of like a cat's meow that came from the TV(I somewhat regret not taping his funny meows) He also could say:
NO!
Feed Me (this wasn't his best one or his most common but when he did say this it made me fall down with laughter)
Mama (his favorite word)
And my favorite thing that he said was.....
I love you.
And don't think his goofy ways ended there, no way!He was a true "guard cat" I know it sounds funny but he was, he spent a good amount of his time ontop of the couch looking out the window. He loved the sun that came in but he really was a guard kitty, if someone was coming he would get up or give a faint meow.If the curtains were closed all the way when he wanted to be on duty he would get very angry until someone would get up and open the curtains for him. What a spoiled boy. I miss him so much, but it seem like the pain is eased somewhat since he sent me Alice,I know he sent me Ally b/c she has the same additude and temperment as he did (she is more crazy then he was, but shes a kitten what do expect: and we were definatly sure when we found out from the vet that she was born in feb. Charlie left us in Feburary(*twiligh zone music plays*) But no-one will ever ever replace my special boyWell I just needed to vent some in this hard time, plus you guys gave me so much support when CharlieBear left me and I am ever so greatful

Christmas was a bit hard for me this year and I know was a bit hard for my family too. It was out first family apart. I miss them so much, but missed them even more on catmas. Even though I know I am free of pain and happy here at the rainbow bridge I wish I could have spent one more catmas down there with them. Snuggling with mom while we watch some TV, getting a few scraps of food from the Christmas dinner, maybe even getting some presents once in a while. Laying under the christmas tree for a nice afternoon nap, gazing out the window watching snow gentle float to the grown. *sigh* How I miss those days. But I am defenitaly not far from them watching over them very carefully.Especially with all these slick, snowy, Icy roads back in Kansas.
Christmas may now have come and gone more hurt leaving with it but 2008 is slinking its way in. Which means my one year mark at the bridge is drawing near........
This poem has brought my family so much joy. I know it is super popular on dogster & catster but i must share it for it brings hope to so many lives-
Rainbow Bridge Poem|
|Author Unkown |
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
