Arrival Story:
A small Tortie cat greeted me on my back porch last Tuesday evening 12/19/06. The cat slept on our porch for two days before I decided get her checked out by the vet on 12/21/06. The vet cleared the kitty of any bad disease, and checked for a microchip, but she didn’t have one. With this information my husband and I decided to take the kitty in from out of the cold NE weather. We named her Tini, short for Martini. She was petite, so the name fit her. The vet told me to expect Tini to be a little "out of it" after receiving her distemper shots. Tini was okay Thursday and Friday, but was “out of it” Saturday and Sunday. I kept a close watch over her and I slept in the bathroom where she was temporarily being housed. When Tini started to refuse water and food I syringed baby food and water and pedialite down her throat to make sure did not dehydrate. I grew concerned on Christmas Eve 12/24/06, and told my husband that we were going to have to take Tini to the Animal Hospital once we returned from our Christmas Eve gathering with family. Sadly, when my we retuned from our family gathering, I went to go check on Tini and found that she had passed:( I am DEVASTATED especially because I thought I was doing the right thing taking Tini off the streets, and getting her checked out by the vet. I wanted nothing more to help Tini, not harm her. Bless you baby Tini... May the Great Spirit shower you with eternal love and may the angels guide you to a happier kingdom. Love always, China Rose, Alfie, Monty, Sam and Damon

"GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"

You were so full of life,

Always {purrig} and carefree,

Life loved you being a part of it,

And I loved you being a part of me.

You could make anyone laugh,

If they were having a bad day,

No matter how sad I was,

You could take the hurt away.

Nothing could every stop you,

Or even make you fall,

You were ready to take on the world,

Ready to do it all.

But the {Great Spirit} decided he needed you,

So from this world you left,

But you took a piece of all of us,

Our hearts are what you kept.

Your {cat bed} is now empty,

And it's hard not to see your face,

But please always know this,

No {cat} will ever take your place.

You left without a warning,

Not even saying good-bye,

And I can't seem to stop,

Asking the question why?

Nothing will ever be the same,

The home is empty without your { sweet meows},

But I know you're in Heaven,

Watching over us and looking after.

I didn't see this coming,

It hit me by surprise,

And when you left this world,

A small part of me died.

Your {purr} could brighten anyone's day,

No matter what they were going through,

And I know everyday for the rest of my life,

I'll be missing you.

My special friend Hugo and I shared a special walk past the gleaming full moon Saturday 3/3/07 which inspired me to send a message to my mommy yesterday 3/4/07.

You see, two years ago on the 4th of March, my mommy experienced a very difficult period in her personal life. I was not born during that time, but I could tell the first day I met my mom that she was still carrying old pain. Losing me on Christmas Eve just added to her anguish.

As you know from my profile my mommy had a hard time forgiving herself when I passed. One thing you should know about my mommy ...she is not the kind of person that gets attached to material things, but for some reason after my death, she lost one of her simulated diamond studs ,and was sad about losing the stud because she was wearing the pair of studs around the time that I was still alive.

On 3/4/07 while my mommy was on her back porch caring for the out door cats I decided to guide her eyes to a distinctive sparkle on the porch floor. At first she thought it was a piece of glass stuck in the crack of the porch floor, but I made it sparkle a second time. She then realized that it was the stud that she had lost. She pulled the stud out of crack and immediately said my name, Tini.

I wanted to send my mom a message that my passing was not her fault. I also wanted her to understand that forgiving oneself and forgiving others is the path to a healing heart. I think she understood my message because she cried and thanked the Great Spirit bringing me into her life.

I want to thank my pal Hugo for encouraging me to reach out to my mommy, and for playing a special role in helping my mother heal.

Bless, love, and kisses,
Tini
