She is not used to affection from humans. She is learning that it is a good thing.

She makes noises to warn you if she is not in the mood for petting.

Favorite Toy:
The feather toy on a string and stick.

Favorite Nap Spot:
She absolutely loves the cat tree. It took 4 months before she would go on it.

Favorite Food:
Fancy Feast!!! She won't eat treats.

She talks a lot and she fits in beautifully with our cat family.

Arrival Story:
I had a big yearning to get another cat, even though I already had 3 cats. So I had been searching ads and there were lots of kittens to be had, but it wasn't a kitten I was after. I wasn't even sure I should get another cat. Then one day I went to the SPCA petfinder site just to see what cats they had and I seen a purebred kitty there that looked beautiful. Then I watched a video of the cat and my heart melted. I phoned to see if this cat was still available and she was. Well there was no stopping me then! I vacumned and set up a cosy room and went to adopt this cat. When I paid for her I was told she was 1/2 price because she was 8 years old. Her chances for adoption were slim to none. Especially because she had a severe case of chin acne. I had expected to pay $100 for her and since she was only $50 I donated the remainder to the shelter. I felt like crying when I was there. I wanted to take all the dogs and cats home with me! When I went into the room to meet Missy (she was alone in a very small cage probably because of her chin acne) and when the SPCA woman reached for Missy she snarled and hissed at her. I asked to hold her and she was placed into my arms. She seemed very calm and I said, "I will take her." The shelter person looked shocked, but happy for Missy. She figured that when I seen Missy's chin I might change my mind. It was explained to me that she has been given antibotics 2 times a day for 10 days and had been held down once a day with a hot compress held to her chin for 10 minutes at a time. And that was why she was mad. Missy is very moody and doesn't want too much petting.

Missy was dumped at the shelter in Nelson, B.C. on August 5, 2006 and I adopted her on December 24, 2006. She was 8 lbs and only 4 lbs when I adopted her because she was very stressed at the shelter. She appears to be furry, but when you pick her up she is a skeleton. I will take her to a vet in a few days to have her checked over. The previous owners said they wanted to get rid of her because she was always trying to get inside the house in the winter! It is snowy and cold in Nelson, B.C. Canada! Missy was named Mi Ho of all things! We have promptly renamed her Missy. She is in rough shape and I have seen a big improvement in the 24 hours she has been in her new forever home. She was going to die at the shelter. It's very sad! She has a very sweet personality and is very loving. Fortunately she loves to be brushed, but not for extended times. Her coat has a bit of a shine to it now. She has several matts, but we can't do everything all at once. We applied a dose of Advantage and trimmed half of her nails so far. We have read up on the correct way to introduce a new cat to the others and will follow directions. UPDATE! The chin acne went away after only 2 weeks!!! Missy has gained 2 lbs and is eating 3 cans of Fancy Feast per day. She has been brought out to the main area and is all over the house now. She loves to sit in front of the livingroom window and look at the water. She now goes out into the cat enclosure and watches the birds. I had Daily Diary pick on November 12th. I was so happy that day!

Princess hates me! I don't know why because I am a very likable kitty. She attacked me while I was sleeping and she scratched the area of my back where my tail starts. Well it formed into an abcess and then it broke last night. That's when my mummy noticed my booboo. She hustled me off to the vet and he fixed me up like all brand new. I was so afraid at the Vets because I heard a big dog barking. I hid my face in mummy's coat hoping to disappear from this place. The Vet listened to my heart and then he told mummy I had a severe heart murmur and that I could have a heart attack any moment and die.

Mummy cried for me. That vet guy put a cone around my neck!!! How silly do I look? I am being very nice and purring loudly to make mummy feel better. I get to stay in mummy's room by myself for awhile. Mummy visits me often and makes me feel good

People can be so mean!

How could my former humans just leave me at a shelter after 8 years together. They made me stay outside even in the winter when there was snow on the ground. I live indoors now and have warmth, food, and much love.

People who say they hate cats have problems. That's for sure! They don't know how to give love and end up lonely bitter people. They are the kind of people who would rather have a cat put down instead of spending money on a vet. My mummy says she has 4 cats and these misery people say..."Why would you want so many?" Then they say..."How many more are you going to get?" They say it sarcastically too. Mummy says " I had to save Missy! She was going to die!" Then they change the topic cause they don't care if a cat dies. These people are to be avoided at all cost.

I got tagged by Hami!

Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My name is Missy.....

1. My eyes appear a little crossed because I have some Siamese in me.
2. I am very happy in my new furrever home.
3. I have been spending a lot of time outside in our cat enclosure.
4. I am still a bit shy, but I am working on it.
5. I sit nicely and only whine a little when mummy wants to cut my nails. A far cry from the spaz attack I used to have when she cut my nails.
6. Mummy loves to play musical cat beds. It keeps me on my toes and I never get bored.
7. I like mummy more than I like daddy.

So now I tag....
1. Kismet #273257
2. Kit-ten #210216
3. Mani #273254
4. Mercedes #56398
5. Monty Python #299704
