Arrival Story:
Joey was a 'stray'. I use the term loosely because he technically belonged to a neighbor...

Bio:
A few weeks before Thanksgiving, Joey showed out of the blue and decided he was going to live on my porch. After awhile, I started feeding him and the next thing I knew I had given him a name. (Every cat lover knows what happens once you name a stray.) A few weeks later, I ended up going out of town over the holiday and came home to an injured cat. I immediately called his owners to let them know that he was injured and that I was worred that it would get infected. They were less than concerned, to say the least, and proceeded to tell me that he'd probably end up like the rest of their cats - missing or dead. They went on to tell me that he had been an inside-only cat for two plus years, but he 'annoyed' them because he wouldn't stay off of their kitchen counters. Because of that, they had decided to put him outside. I offered to take him off their hands and get veterinary care for him. Since they didn't say no, I just assumed they meant yes. As it turned out, the injury was not nearly severe as it looked but he did need antibiotics to fight off a minor infection. Aside from that, he couldn't be a happier, healthier cat!!!
