Quick Bio:
-cat rescue

Coloration:
Red

Likes:
Eating, sleeping, sunbathing, waking dad up by sitting on his head, gazing out of my cat flap, keeping my claws in shape on the hall carpet, laying on mum and dad, having my head and neck scratched

Pet-Peeves:
Mum taking too many photos of me.

Favorite Toy:
Anything dangly. I also like to play with the thing under mum and dad's duvet - though I haven't the heart to let on that I know that it's really their hands moving about under there.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On my radiator hammock, on all three beds in the house in rotation, on mum and dad's pillows.

Favorite Food:
I don't get treated to many human nibbles since I got put on something called a renal diet. I do occasionally manage to sneak the odd bit of digestive biscuit though. Grandma's a bit of a soft touch too, which I take full advantage of when she visits!

Skills:
I dribble when I'm happy. This qualifies as a skill as it reduces mum and dad to 'putty in my paws' status as they think it's adorable. I also snore and wheeze loud enough to wake the dead.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
I was a stray on my street for upwards of ten years after my previous owners kicked me out after buying a dog. I was lucky enough to be fed by a few people on my street and slept in mum and dad's garage. Mum and dad, (before they were mum and dad), would occasionally let me sneak in to sleep in the warm when there previous cat, Charlie, wasn't looking. When Charlie passed on in February 2005, they took me in. Mum and dad reckon that it's unlikely that I would have carried on much longer if they hadn't, as I was seriously underweight, with cat flu and lung worm. I'd have these awful coughing fits during which I'd barely be able to draw breath. After a course of tablets and plenty of warmth and t.l.c. though, I pulled through. During my very first trip to the vets, the lady had to put some surgical spirit under my nose so I would stop purring long enough for her to listen to my chest! I've since become jaded with that place though. Every time I go something nasty seems to happen. Anyway, mum and dad fully expected me to remain something of an 'outdoors' cat, seeing as I'd lived the street life for so long. They thought I'd only reallyventure indoors to eat and sleep - but I surprised them both by being a total house cat. There's nothing I like more than sitting with mum and dad in front of the telly, or in front of the fire.

Bio:
Mum and dad say I'm an 'old timer', and I suppose they're right. No-one is exactly sure of my age but the general concensus seems to be about 13. My birthday is 14th February as that's the day I came to live with mum and dad. I don't have many front teeth left as I had really bad gingivitis when I first moved in. I have one fang left in the front though, of which I am very proud. I have kidney problems too, but thanks to my vet, (who mum and dad seem to think the world of), and this special food I'm on, it seems to be under control and has been for over a year now. Despite my past, I am a very affectionate cat and will talk to anybody - human, canine and feline alike, though I am getting a little more wary with age. I do sleep rather alot but have a couple of manic playing sessions a day. Sometimes I play with mum and dad and other times I'll spend five minutes tearing around the house like an orange blur with claws! I have yet to master my cat flap. I've had mum and dad tape it open for me during daylight hours so I can still come and go as I please. In the summer months I love to doze in the garden - sometimes on mum's flower beds which she doesn't seem to mind as she's left my favourite patch bare for me. I also like laying on my back and having mum rub my tummy or letting dad blow 'raspberries' on me.

Ginger passed on late last night, peaceful and happy.
He'll be sorely missed but we're taking comfort in the fact that he had nearly five years that he wouldn't have had if he'd not come to live with us and that those years were happy, relaxed and full of love.

Here's hoping that his teeth are waiting for him in kitty heaven.

RIP little man.

I always welcome visitors into my house, especially when they come in the form of my mum's sister, Emma. She's staying with us for a few days and this time she brought a tiny little human with her. His name is Damian and, according to mum and dad, he is something called a baby. We spend quite a lot of time sitting calmly, gazing at eachother knowingly. Mum, dad and Emma seem amazed that we get on so well, but I'm not sure why. Damian and I seem to have a lot in common actually. We both have a cycle of eating, andsleeping followed by sporadic bursts of activity.
Thinking about it I seem to recall mum and dad talking about getting one of these babies for themselves in the past. As long as it doesn't divert too much attention from me, I think it'd suit me down to the ground.

I've only been on Catster for a little over 12 human hours and I already have 17 friends! One of my new friends even asked if I was single! Mum says that my head'll get so big I'll not be able to get through the cat flap soon.

Mum and dad have been taking quite a few photos of me recently.
I don't mind too much, but can never keep my eyes open when that bright light flashes. Mum seems to like taking photos of me when I'm trying to sleep too, yet she moans when I wake her up by walking on her in the night. I don't think I'll ever inderstamd humans.

I had a nice sleep on mum this morning when she was on the 'phone.
She kept laughing and jiggling me around but I still managed to catch forty winks.

Mum took a photo of dad and me on the computer last night. It's like she'd never seen a cat on the internet before..

Anyway, I have to sleep some more now, so thank you again to all the lovely feline friends I have made!
