Likes: Besides eating? Watching water run in the sink! He likes a tiny trickle best and will watch it forever. Not that we've actually left it on that long.
Pet-Peeves: Finding his food bowl empty! Bo loves to eat...and eat...and eat.
Favorite Toy: His feather stick! It's almost an obsession with him.
Favorite Nap Spot: Anywhere! Anytime! Any place! Next to eating, sleeping is Bo's favorite hobby.
Favorite Food: Any canned cat food...any dry food...human food...dog food...ribbons...plastic...rubber bands...You get the idea - he isn't picky at all.
Skills: He'll take his feather stick in his mouth and spin and spin if we can't play with him when he's ready to play. Champion foot-attacker in the night. Sixteen cat-pounds leaping on your feet at 3 AM - quite an experience! "Making biscuits/packing cotton"

Arrival Story: Bo's mother turned up on my cousin's porch, pregnant and homeless. My cousin and her girls delivered the kittens when they arrived. I took Bo and his beautiful brother, Cider. Unfortunately, Cider passed away in 2006 from cancer. His cat life was far too short. We tend to pamper Bo even more after losing his brother. Both Cider and Bo tested FLV positive, but so far, Bo is healthy and robust. We give him his interferon regularly and hope this helps protect his health. We take special care of this very special kitty as we do all the kitties with whom he lives. I call him my shadow as he follows me wherever I go.
Update: Bo now has a new adopted sister named Seven. My husband found her abandoned as a tiny kitten at a grocery store. Turns out she FeLV positive, too, so they keep each other company. Bo's wonderful with her, grooming her and playing gently - the perfect big brother!
Update: We've added sisfur Darcy! She's another FeLV kitty so we're giving interferon and L-Lysine to three now. Bo's such a great brother. He cuddles her, grooms her, and they love to play.
Bio: Bo is a traveling cat. We take him on vacations whenever we can, and he loves to ride in the car. He's an extremely loving cat. One of his favorite activities is sitting on the bathroom sink, staring at the water as it runs into the drain. It simply fascinates him. Bo never meets a stranger. Bo especially loves to sit on my left shoulder. Never the right. His favorite time to assume this position is when I'm on the computer. Makes it rather difficult to type, but this argument never has much effect on Bo. Computer = left shoulder. End of story.
He's obsessed with watching water flow from the bathroom sink - and drinking it, too! Now he's taught Darcy to be a water-watcher, and she's just as obsessed as her big brofur.
He's a joy each and every day. I'm sure some folks would balk at caring for a FeLV kitty but we feel so blessed to have Bo in our lives.
We work hard to keep Bo and his adopted sisters Seven & Darcy, also FeLV positive, healthy. They get interferon & L-Lysine with their vet's supervision, and we try to keep their lives stress-free. They get lots and lots of love!

The Last Forum I Posted In: Blind Kitten Needs Home!!
Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary was started to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed unadoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind.
We are a registered non profit with the state of North Carolina. There are no paid employees, only volunteers, so all contributions go directly to the kitties.
Rescue is about restoring hope and dignity to creatures for whom no one else cares about. We are but humble vessels to help these magnificent creatures find their forever homes. The responsibility is big but the returns on our emotional investment are greater. You cannot place a value on the look of contentment that comes when an animal is clean, exercised, warm, fed and safe for the first time in its life.

Meowmy has given me a new nickname! I's now called:

I's gonna tell you!
Meowmy and Purrdaddy has always said I cannot goes outside. I has somethin' called FeLV. I isn't sure what that is, but it means I's an inside kitty all the time.
I decided I doesn't like that! Not at all! Outside is nice! Outside there is bugs and sunshine and breezes and birds and butterflies and flowers and...well, lots of stuff!
So I decided that I's gonna change things. I watched Meowmy and Purrdaddy fur a long time. I figured it out! They's big. They's able to do stuff like talk and drive that big old car thing, but...
They isn't very fast! I's SOOO much faster!
I started hiding around the corner from the door to the garage. Beside the 'frigerator is the bestest place...or the clothes dryer, if they is goin' out the side door. Once the door is open and they's concentratin' on gettin' out, I runs! I runs SOOOOO fast! Before they knows it, I's out the door!
Our garage has a cat door so Brofur Catfish can get inside if he needs to in a hurry. It didn't take me long to figure out where that cat door is! I flies through it and...
I'S OUTSIDE!
At furst, Meowmy or Purrdaddy would chase me and fuss at me and bring me back inside. But I didn't give up! I kept runnin' outside!
Now they's decided that as long as I stays in the front yard and they's out with me, I can visit the OUTSIDE! I can chase bugs and I can jump on leaves and I can follow Brofur Catfish around. It's SOOOOO cool!
I can't go out at night 'cause they might lose me in the woods. I can't go out without Meowmy or Purrdaddy 'cause of my FeLV thingy. But about once a day, when I runs outside, they lets me stay awhile.
I's such a very happy kitty cat! I's an inside and outside-fur-a-little-while kitty! Isn't I lucky???
Well, not lost, really. I knew where I wuz! Meowmy just didn't!
It happened like this...
Meowmy wuz unloading groceries. She'd already fed us some delicious fish flavored cat food. Mmmm!!!! On her second trip, I waited silently near the door...waiting...stalking...stealthy and silent...until...I...pounced!
As Meowmy struggled to carry groceries and her purse inside, I flew out into the garage. Looking back over my shoulder, I knew she hadn't seen me!
I wuz free!!!!!!
I sniffed the grass. I chased two yellow butterflies, but I couldn't catch them. I batted some leaves scuttling across the driveway. I jumped out at Holly dog from behind some bushes. I ventured into the woods and sniffed and sniffed.
It began getting darker. Hmmmm....Usually Meowmy would have been calling me by now...
I hung around the cat door that leads into the garage. Holly wuz inside, munching her dry dog food. I wuzn't hungry, but I wuz gettin' tired. Meowmy?
It wuz dark...really and truly dark. I heard crickets and frogs. Out in the woods behind the house, an owl hooted, then glided silently through the air. Meowmy???
Then I heard them...
It wuz an eerie, scary sound. Lots of barks and yelps, coming from over the hill, back through the woods. It didn't sound like dogs. I'm not afraid of dogs, but I wuz scared of these...whatever they wuz.
Meowmy had mentioned something called 'coyotes'. She said they wuz bad, that they would attack kitties!!! Could those scary yelps and howls be...coyotes????
MEOWMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I heard it...close by and insistent. Lights appeared suddenly from the house, bringing a warmth to the chill of darkness. It wuz Meowmy's voice, calling ME!!!!!
I ran fast as I could through the woods, meowing and meowing and meowing!!!! Meowmy!!!
Meowmy scooped me up, hugging me and fussing at me all at once. But I didn't mind. She was warm and safe and would protect me from those awful, terrible coyotes.
As we entered the house, I glanced back over my shoulder, breathing in the night air and listening once more to the crickets and frogs.
Outside is a nice place to vist...but I sure wouldn't want to live there!!!!!
In my last diary, I wroted that sweet Darcy kitty had gone to the Bridge. It was so very sad, and we misses her each and every day. But I thinks Angel Darcy has been busy there at the beautiful Rainbow Bridge. I thinks she's looking down at us here on Earth and sees how much we misses her.
So...she sended us TWO new kitties!!!!!!! TWO!!! And they's both black! That's how I knows they's from Angel Darcy 'cause they looks the same.
Furst came my new sisfur Majik. She's named fur a very special kitty Meowmy and Purrdaddy had a long, long time 'fore I came along. Her name wuz Magic and she wuz black, too. She wuz a very special, very smart, very lovin' kitty. So's Meowmy named this new kitty Majik in her honor. Majik needed a home 'cause she wuz found wandering in a parking lot. The nice lady who founded her couldn't keep her and wuz about to take her to the pound. It's NOT a good place for black kitties 'cause many peoples thinks they's bad luck! Imagine that! Majik is very sweet but very, very, very shy! She's just now starting to want to be around us other kitties. Sisfur Seven chases her sometimes, and Majik doesn't like that very much at all!
Then Meowmy heard 'bout a little blind kitten down in south Georgia! She needed a home bad, too. So Purrdaddy picked her up when he wuz down there and brunged her home!!! Her name is Charcoal, 'cause she's black, but we calls her Coal fur short.
And guess what, furs? She's not totally blind!!!! Her little eyes be scarred from a bad viral infection but she can see fairly good. She's so sweet and cuddly and LOVES to run and play.
Angel Darcy did good when she sended us Coal and Majik. Even though we misses Angel Darcy so very, very much, we loves our new sisfurs. And 'cause Angel Darcy sended them, we know she's still with us.
