Alley Cat's Life

New 'do

Mom has changed my status from Domestic Shorthair to Domestic Medium Hair. My fur is longer than my siblings. Mom and Dad didn't know that 'cause I didn't come out of my house very much until recently. They keep telling me how beautiful I am (but I already knew that). I'm very fluffy and oh how they wish they could pet me. But I'm getting friendlier - eating in the TV room while people are in there and coming out to play. I'm still not crazy about being petted with the glove, but Mom and Dad are convinced it's helped me get more used to human contact.

Exploring my surroundings

After two months of pretty much staying in our room, I decided to venture out into the TV room and explore a little. I even started eating dinner in there with my siblings. I'm getting more and more comfortable around the humans, but I still don't like to be petted. Mom thinks it's just going to take me longer to find my comfort level. Mom took the advice of a lady who wrote a book about taming feral cats and used a glove to pet me the other night. I wasn't crazy about it, but the very next day I started coming around, so maybe it works after all!

Ooh, what's in this room?

I've made a lot of progress since my last entry. I'm coming out of my house, eating in front of the humans and even have ventured into the TV room when I think no one is looking. Mom got a book about taming feral cats and she's hoping to start working with me soon. I don't know how I feel about that! Jack, Scout and Bella though all are comfortable around Mom, so she must not be too bad.
