First Bridge Birthday

Thank you, furiends, fur all of the Birthday cheer! This is my & bro's first birthday at the Bridge, so it's a little tough, but having so many pawsome angels around to party with has been wonderful! Once again, our meowmy's been buried by her school and we haven't been able to visit Catsterland as much as we'd like...maybe things'll calm down someday & that'll change (paws are crossed! MOL!). Me & bro send our good angel vibes to all you kits on earth--and remember to cuddle your meowmies & daddies...every birthday, and every day you have togefur is a gift!

A Rainbow DP!

Wow! I'm a diary pick!! Thank you fur all of the concats, everykitty!! And thanks fur the honor, Catster! I'm still learning how to use these new wings...it's harder than it sounds! I'm in pawsome company here...so many superstar angels! My family continue to admire the beautiful portrait of me & bro--if it weren't fur the furts & pawrents responsible, I wouldn't have had occasion to write in my diary--and no DP! So this is everykitty's DP, as far as I can see! Purrs to all of you!

An A Team Thanks You!

To all of you furts & meowms who pulled togefur fur the beautiful painting of me & the bro: THANK YOU!!! Meowmy was overwhelmed(& leaking) when she unwrapped it! I posted a pic on my page--it's propped up with the card near my ashes, collar, & necklace. Words cannot express our gratitude...you Catsters are purrfect in every way!! Thank you so much!!

Almost Two Weeks

Sorry Furts...I had written (or rather, my Bridge secretary had written) a diary entry a few days ago, but it seems to have never been posted.
The visiting V-E-T brought my ashes home this past Saturday, in a white tin with a pawprint pattern all over it. The house seems so still & quiet as I watch it from here. Meowmy cries sometimes, and sometimes Bugsy sits with her.
My littermate brofur, Alex, wanders around purring when he's awake. He doesn't seem to notice that I'm gone...Meowmy tried to show him my body before the V-E-T took it away, but he just purred because Meowmy was holding him.
Bugsy got it, though. Even the nice neighbor lady, who'd come over fur moral support picked up on that. I know it's probably a good thing that Alex doesn't know I'm gone, but it still makes me a little sad...he was such a smarty-pants in his day.
Maybe when I meet him at the Bridge someday, he'll be back to his sharp-as-a-tack self, and he won't have had to miss me like I miss him now.
I can't thank you all enough fur your support. It makes my meowmy a little happier to know that I was special enough to have meant something to all of you.
I was at the Bridge gate to greet our furiend, Molly, and lemme meow you, she's a beautiful angel! We're sending purrs out to her & her family.

Angel Thanks

My meowmy just got home from her trip and read all of our furiend's sweet comments and well wishes...thank you all. And thanks to all of the angels who have been helping me to learn the ropes at the Bridge!
Annie's meowmy, here: Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I went back to our home area in SoCal, which was tough...I left there 2 years ago with all of my fur kids for vet school, and going back to the place where we had made a life together knowing that Annie was gone wasn't easy...nor was coming back to an Annie-less house tonight. I just hope that in her last moments, Annie knew how much I loved her. Thank you all again for your support...it means so much!
Annie & Alex & all of the Olde Furts are the reason I'm in vet school.

Time for Goodbyes

Meowlo Furts. I hope your summers are all going well. Mine's been a little rough...I've been having more trouble walking lately--I fall down & can't get up a lot--and I've been losing my temper with Bugsy (well...he IS a little whipper snapper!). I also get lost in corners and stuck in little nooks & crannies. Meowmy's thinking that it's time fur me to find my wings and dance again...like I used to...at the Bridge. I will miss you all...you've all been such good furiends & you've made these golden years pretty pawsome fur me! So I send to all of you a great big hug...and know that I will be there to hug you again when it is your time to leave fur the Bridge. :)
Annie's Meowmy, here. Annie was diagnosed with a meningioma, which is a benign, slow-growing brain tumor, almost a year ago. Annie had a particularly bad night and it's obvious that she needs continuous supervision at this point. She still purrs when I pick her up, but it appears that she spends much of her time confused and upset: She's become more aggressive towards Bugsy (& towards me, when I attempted to intervene) this morning). And I've had to help her up from a fallen position on the floor several times this morning (I finally laid her on her vibrating mattress to calm her down, where she is currently napping).
Circumstances are made more difficult by my having to leave town for a school/business activity. I don't feel I can leave her like this--even though we have an awesome pet sitter--& I don't wish to confine her to a hospital cage only to help her to the Bridge upon my return. I have spoken with an in-home care veterinarian who will probably be stopping by later today. I never wanted nor planned to be rushed into this decision, but it seems the most humane of all of my options. Sorry to turn this into a confessional...I suppose guilt is inherent in these Bridge decisions, regardless of the circumstances.
I know Annie, Alex, & yes, even Bugsy would appreciate your thoughts & purrs. Thank you all for being such good friends to Annie. --Meowmy Suzanne

Olde Furtiness in my Head

Meowlo, furts. Actually, my meowmy is writing this on my behalf because she wanted to update my furiends and, well, it looks like I have a boo-boo in my brain. I haven't been acting myself since last spring, and our special internal medicine doc thought that I should see a special nur-ro doc, who thinks I have something called a men-in-gee-oma in my head. I'm on a medicine to try to keep the boo-boo from getting bigger. I'm in a good mood though--I purr when Meowmy picks me up and talks to me, and I still get around pretty well. We're just taking things one day at a time (especially with Meowmy's crazy schedule!). We checked in today to see how our other furt furiends are doing--we are purring fur Sugar's peaceful journey to the Bridge and we hope Arnie P. has a full recovery from his latest furtiness bout!I'm hoping to keep in touch with you all a little more once Meowmy's on her winter break. And we hope everykitty out there has a safe & pawsome Halloween!

Just a Country Girl

Meowlo, Furts! I just thought I'd drop a line to y'all from farm country. Unfortunately, we can't seem to get phone or 'puter access from our farm, so we may only get to meow at you sporadically throughout the next 2 months. My brofurs were all excited, having just discovered the outdoor wonders of the farm where we're staying fur the summer, when a co-worker told our meowmy that the area is crawling with a starving coyote (over)population & that pets are carried away by these creatures in broad daylight right in front of their meowmies &/or daddies! So no more outside time fur the bros! They're pretty bummed out, as you can guess. But meowmy did manage to snap many pics of them outside earlier this week--before the bad news hit! We're hoping to find the time (& place!) to upload & share those with you! We might go back to our home in Knoxville in a couple of weeks (when Meowmy has some time off from her work) so that the boys can get a break from the indoors in our enclosed, coyote-free yard there! We hope you're all staying safe & having a pawsome summer! Luv-n-purrs!

18 Years in the Making

Meowlo Furts! It's been a while since I meowed at you, and tomorrow's my 18th birthday, so I thought it fitting I meow a little. I've been finding myself acting a little...well...not myself lately. I suppose that's the rub when you reach my age. I've taken to follwing my meowmy around everywhere, and also following the vacuum and broom. What can I meow?--I never realized how fascinating they were before. I've also taken to bullying my younger bro', Bugsy--he deserves it fur being a young whippersnapper! But me, Alex, & our meowmy sure have been a lot of places and had a lot of birthdays together! And we've gotten to meet so many pawsome Olde Furts here on Catster over the years. So tomorrow we'll be chillin', eating some treats, & getting some chin scritches! And I should thank Calvin's meowmy fur making such a lovely collar--and thank Calvin fur inspiring it! It's an honor to have a Calvin Collar! I hope all of you furts out there are having a wonderpurr spring! Take care!
