Exceptional mouser, she has literally eaten and ran across the barn and caught a mouse in less than a minute. She will put her catch next to her bowl, on the feeding platform or else she will them up on the walkway in front of her entrance way.

Arrival Story:
I was involved in a feral cat rescue last summer and Emmie was one of the first ones caught. When I caught Jonnie I put her in the same crate as Emmie because Emmie was calmer and I thought it would calm Jonnie down. It worked dramatically. They were close friends for months. Cats of Habitat spayed them and gave them their shots and I volunteered to be their Caretaker.
Bio:
I believe Emmie has always wanted a home. The man who was originally feeding them said they had never been touched and that he had fed Emmie's mother. When I released them in my barn and got a dog house out to put in the loft for them, Emmie ran right over to it and claimed it immediately! She loves the barn and never leaves the property. She will climb up in a tree to look over the fence to the dog yard to watch them or see what I am doing in there. She likes warm water that I bring to the barn several times during the day in the colder months. After she eats I always sit on a bale of straw and say, "Emmie, come give Mommy a hug.", and she runs over, jumps on my lap, and puts her front paws on my chest or shoulder. She purrs so loud and loves to be petted and held. Any time I am in the barn moving things, building or fixing something for her, she will watch me very intently, come over and check it out and it seems she always knows it's for her. Emmie has splashes of orange on her that doesn't show well in pictures.
