Arrival Story:
Augie started showing up in our yard and scaring our other cats. He was a really big cat, so we chased him away at first. After a while, we realized that he was really sick. My BIL captured him and took him to the vet. By the time get got there, he was near death. His system was near crashing, and his blood sugar and other values were sky high. Also, he had really bad problems with his paws. They were bleeding and infected. We think he had been abused by humans. He's still deathly afraid of plastic shopping bags, so he might have spent some time being forced into one, unfortunately.
Bio:
Augie is a really big cat. At his last weigh-in, he tipped the scale at 23 pounds. He is really just a big lovable lug. When Beckham was a baby, Augie was the gentlest father-figure you could imagine. He is always properly attired in his tuxedo and funky soul patch!
