Dad did a little more work on the shelves tonight. He decided against having the charcoal on the bottom in favor of a den area for hiding. The carpet is secured with duct tape loops. We haven't go on it willingly yet, but Daddy hopes that will change.
To clear up some confusion, the staircase has not been built yet, it's in the planning stages since cardboard is kind of unstable. We may have to find an alternative. Second, it's a free-standing unit and not attached to the wall or anything. Google "freestanding plastic shelving unit" and you'll see. They're very useful for storage. We have half a dozen in the house plus our fort.
Daddy hopes we'll use our fort soon. Well, at least he didn't spend hundreds of dollars on a manufactured one. MOL

home made stuff is the best Lena! One of my favorite toys is a crocheted tube that kind of looks like a little snake that my human sister made. The Dad is in the process of slooooowwwly building us a cat tree with salvaged wood & tubes. All we purchased was some on sale boat carpeting. He just has been so busy, that is ll that is left. Do you like catnip? Maybe a pinch of that will help you to entice you onto your fort. Have fun!
