Arrival Story: A friend had a litter of cats that she wanted to send to the pound..I asked her if I could have one and she said yes. So I went to her house to pick one out, but they were all very shy and would run before I could even touch them. Then I saw one hiding under a bush. She didn't try to scratch me or run away like her brothers and sisters, so I took her home with me. She was always a very happy kitty, although very quiet, until Sammy came to live with us. She was very angry for a couple of weeks and wouldn't speak to me. After she realized that the dog was here to stay, she eventually forgave me and even grew to love her little brother, although she'd never admit it. For those that are wondering, the name Miss Bigglesworth is from the Austin Powers movie...at first her name was going to be "Mr" Bigglesworth..but after I learned she was a girl, that obviously had to change!

Bio: Until about 2 years ago, Miss Bigglesworth was always very petite, and was in fact mistaken for a kitten by most people. She was always very healthy, but very small for her age. Once I made the decision to have her "fixed", she started to gain weight and now looks more like her age. She's still very healthy and enjoys not having those bouts of "uncomfortable" feelings every few weeks! ;-)

My goodness....I hadn't realized how long it's been since I've updated my diary here! I do, however, have a very good reason for that ---
In my previous entry from last summer, I wrote about how I hadn't been feeling too well and that my daddy was being a pest by constantly hovering over me. Though I did have days when I was feeling a bit better, I eventually found myself feeling just awful ALL the time....something that really made my daddy sad. He told me one night that I just had to get better because he hadn't had nearly enough time with me. This of course is to be expected from humans, because there is no such thing as TOO much time with a cat (we are of course the superior form of life).....
Anyway, my daddy brought me to the doctor.....and she did the most HIDEOUS things to me!! My feline friends, when you visit the doctor, DO NOT let them take your temperature!! You would not believe WHERE they put the thermometer!!!! There were x-rays taken and the doctor told my daddy that I had something called "bladder stones" ...the doctor told daddy that I may be in renal failure and his eyes got all wet. I heard the doctor say that surgery had to be done if I were to survive but there was no promise that I'd make it. The doctor left my daddy and I alone, and he told me how much he loved me and that he had to do whatever it took to make me well. It was quite touching--perhaps humans are more acceptable creatures than I thought?
The next thing I know, I'm being wheeled into an operating room and when I woke up my daddy was standing next to me telling me how happy he was to see me! I was still VERY sleepy, but my daddy stayed with me for quite a while.
When I came home from the hospital, I was very sore and quite appalled that one of my legs had been shaved bald and my tummy was also shaved bald!!! But my daddy was so sweet to me that I hardly noticed--and within a week I was feeling grand!! I hadn't felt that good since I was just a little girl!!
Life is now so much better for me -- I have completely recovered -- my bald leg and tummy are now once again covered with my beautiful fur and I have once again reclaimed my position as Queen of the House.
The only downside of my new lease on life is that my daddy now tells me every single day how much he loves me and how glad he is that I am still around!

*sigh
I haven't been feeling well lately. I don't know what's been wrong, but I just haven't felt much like eating or playing...I wasn't too concerned until my Daddy came home yesterday and picked me up. I could tell that he was VERY upset--I heard him tell Chris that I'd lost quite a lot of weight. Normally, it's not a big deal for a lady [especially one as elegant as I] to drop a bit of girth, but apparently I've lost a bit too much for my daddy to feel comfortable with.
Daddy was quite sad...he offered me milk, water, even tuna! But I just didn't feel like eating. Then he looked up some information on the internet, made a phone call, and then gave me to most VILE tasting stuff he called "medicine". It tasted more like melted dog doodie than anything! Even after he gave me that horrible stuff, Daddy was still very sad. He spent a lot of time holding me and telling me that I'm his little girl and he didn't want me to leave him! It was quite touching, but honestly...Daddy can be such a sap at times! As if I would ever leave him! I've had it wayyyy too good here for these last 11 years! Why, I've never even so much as had to LOOK at a mouse...much less EAT one for survival!
I do have to admit that I am feeling MUCH better today after another dose of the horrible tasting "medicine". I've found myself getting hungry again and actually eating--Daddy has fed me milk with my regular food, some tuna, and I've been able to drink water. I even felt like playing a bit....but Daddy is beginning to get on my nerves. He's been hovering over me all day and night, telling me he wants to "keep an eye on me..."
Humans!

Dogs are such silly creatures. My brother Sammy was tapping away on the computer and I wanted to get on, but he wouldn't let me! So I pretended to be our daddy and scared that silly mutt off of the computer!
So much has happened since my last entry here that I hardly know where to begin. First of all, I'm a bit older, but as beautiful as ever. I know this because everyone who comes to visit my daddy tells him so! They proclaim that I am the most beautiful cat they've ever seen! Sometimes humans ARE smarter than they look! Secondly, I have ventured outside once since my last entry. It was not fun. I wasn't on the back porch five seconds before the most HIDEOUS creature (I believe daddy called it a "bug") crawled right towards me!! I hardly knew what to do! Surely if this ghastly being would have come any closer, he would have devoured me for his dinner....so I turned around and fled back into the safety of my house. I really do NOT see what appeals to humans to leave the comfort of a house every day. I mean really...there are all sorts of vile things "outside"...such as bugs, spiders, birds, and most especially: DOGS!! The third thing that happened since my last entry was my daddy forgetting to fill my food dish one night.
I was INFURIATED. I started to get a bite to eat one evening and to my horror, I found that I could see the bottom of my dish! This is UNacceptable and my daddy knows it! If you can believe this, he actually thinks that I should eat the food surrounding the area where I can see the bottom of the dish! Have you EVER heard anything so REPULSIVE in your LIFE?! I instantly marched myself into the living room where daddy was watching the box with little people in it...something he does quite often...and I jumped onto his lap. He started to pet me, but he made NO attempt to get up and fill my dish!! I knew I had to take drastic measures, so I swatted at him with my paw...darn him though....he had my front claws removed a few years ago, so all he did was laugh at me! Well, finally I just flicked my tail at him and started walking back to MY room. He finally got the hint and asked me if I needed food. Humans are SO stupid sometimes!
Well, I hear my daddy coming...or is that Sammy trying to trick me?
