Arrival Story:
Since I'm too little to write, my new mommy will have to tell the story (below). : ) Monte I had trapped Monte's mom, Elsa, who is feral, and brought her to my vet for spaying, not realizing she had given birth to litter of kittens. When the vet realized she was post-partum, he quickly spayed her and I returned her to the wild so she could find her kittens. She found and was able to nurse her kittens, who she kept well hidden and protected until they were almost 3 months old! Then, one day, when she came to get her food, she was followed by four little ones - all plump and playful! I built them a shelter (I had already built one for the other ferals I had trapped and neutered), and fed them on a daily basis. Unfortunately, they were already feral by the time they appeared. But one day, this little gray one (Monte) did not run away from me. As I approached him, I could see he was ill. I was able to catch him and take him to the vet. He was treated for pneumonia, fleas, worms, and an eye infection. He's fine, now, and totally bonding with my other (8) cats, parrot, dog, and iguana! I'll bring him in for neutering soon. At some point, I'll have to trap his siblings and get them spayed/neutered, too.
