diets, dogs, and digging claws

Hi everycat.

I know I don't write too much. It's because I'm usually too busy napping, eating, or snuggling with my mom or sister Sienna. But I had a pretty exciting day yesterday. Zuki the dog and I went to the vet together. I went because I've been coughing a lot. Well the vet wasn't sure exactly what caused it. Could be herpes or bronchitis or asthma. Mom and Dad changed the little to dust-free first to see if that helps. I hope it does! I also get to have some Lysine in wet food which is delicious! Yummy me. Not too much though because I've gained weight *blushes*. The lady loves her food!

merry christmas

Hey everycat,

Well it's been almost 2 months and my cat brother doesn't seem to be moving out. But it's ok because he knows who's boss. I got him to stop eating out of my food bowl. But he does eat out of the dog's bowl. He even sneaks out of the human's bowls when they are cooking! Good grief.

I had a pretty good Christmas. I got a cat dancer which I love and I will not let the little guy play with it if I want it. I snuggled lots with mom (see my pics). I also snuggled with my dog brother Zuki. Then I took a long nap in my cat condo.

Mom says I do not need to be on such a strict diet now that I am getting more exercise. You mean chasing the little twerp around? Yeah, I keep him in line. It's a hard job but somebody's gotta do it. The good news is that he does a lot of begging, like for the morning breakfast. My old routine was to sneeze in mom's face and wake her up. Now he pounces on her and seems to get her going. He blocks her path to the bathroom so she can't forget about us. Two pathetic begging faces are sure better than one!

It's a Thanksgiving miracle!!!

Me and my new cat brother Foucault shared a meal together. He got fed and I wanted to eat out of the same bowl even though I had a bowl in my area. We shared a feast! We are good friends now. It's like the Native Americans and Pilgrims coming together; except we are both tabbies. Wishing you all the best that thanksgiving has to offer.

a brother?

Oh hello everycat!

Sorry I have not written in awhile. See I've been pretty busy with organizing my catnip toys, getting into the attic, and cuddling with my sister cat. But, now, I have new for you! I might be getting a brother! My mom and dad keep coming home smelling like another cat. And there's whispers of getting me a pal so I stop "pestering Sienna". So what if I pester my sister? But, I sure would like a friend. Cross your paws that it works out for me!

roof climbing

Hey catster pals,

Guess what! It has been sunny out today! Mom has been hanging out on our balcony. That means roof climbing season has started for me! I have been getting plenty of exercise by balancing on the rail, hiking up and down the roof, and running in and out of the house when I hear scary outside noises. Mom said it's just cars, but those are super scary to me!

Well, I can't guarantee I'll be online as much in this nice weather, but I'll try. I'm sure it will rain soon enough, I mean, it is Seattle. Mom's hoping I'll lose a couple ounces by exploring outside. Fat chance! I'm as hungry as ever, even with this new diet cat food. Blech.

a bath!?!!?!!??!

Hey everycat,

I was wondering if any of your humans have ever had the stupid idea of giving you a bath? Well, mine did. My mommy said I was stinky and got on my pink rubber gloves. Then she picked me up. I don't really like being up so I knew this wasn't good.

Then, PLUNK! Into the sink I went. Well, she tried to force me in further, but I just wouldn't go. So there mom! Then, I finally escaped and ran out of the bathroom. That silly human didn't close the door at least. So I ran upstairs under the bed and finally got away from her.

She then came at me with a towel and tried to dry me! Later, when I went over to my human dad's room (who has never dared wash me), they picked me up and dried me. Jeez, don't these folks know what tongues are for?

I'm staying far away from that crazy human for the rest of the afternoon. Now she says I smell like wet cat. Serves her right. Tonight I'll sneeze right on her face.

life is life

Hi catster pals,

Life is OK. My grandma was here. Check out the picture of her with me! She let me sit in her lap and pet me lots! I felt really special 'cause she ignored the dogs and gave me lots of attention.

My mom got me a little collar (pink with flowers, cause I'm a girl) and ID tag. She says this is 'cause I keep trying to get outside but I also think she wants me to look pretty. I have already been getting noticed more. At least by humans.

My diet is going better. I'm getting used to eating a bit less. I'm not sure how many ounces I've lost. I'm gearing up for a big weigh-in at the vet. I'll have to suck in my waddle.

pick of the day!

Yay! I'm pick of the day along with some other really cool cats. Maybe I'll finally get some respect around here. I mean, its tough living in a house with two big smelly dogs. I mean, I love them and all but there is a line to cuddle with my mom at night.

I wonder what I'll do to celebrate. I could run outside, oh shoot I already tried that the other day. Um, maybe I'll get some more treats. I work on my begging meows. I mean, the diet can wait for a day.

I ran outside today. I have been waiting by the door everyday for weeks and I finally found my chance! I skipped past my mom and out into the bushes. I froze up when my mom saw me. Dang white fur showed up against the brown dirt. So, I got caught by my mom and brought back in. So much for the adventure.

I'm stir crazy

Hi catsters,

Is it only January yet? Gosh, I can't wait until Spring. I am all cooped up inside and can't climb on the roof. I have been picking fights with my sister and brother dogs just to get some exercise. And I have been really wanting lots of attention from my mom and dad. I have been sleeping on my mom's pillow every night. Sometimes my purring wakes her up. Sometimes...it's other stuff (hairball in the face).

Everyone thinks I'm a different cat. Maybe it's joining catster. I just feel young again! I heard my mom talking to someone on the phone about a "foster" cat. I wonder what that means. Maybe they'll be another ball of fur around here soon...I sure could use a pal to play with who is my own size!

they're back!

Hey pals,

You've been great company and all but I wanted to let you know my dog pals are back!! I missed them so much. I had this human here with me, but he didn't seem to understand my compulsive need for snuggling, pets, and attention. He didn't really appreciate my drool either. I mean, hey, I can't help it that many of my teeth have been extracted!

My mom and dad are back too. My mom had some orange things in a container of water here. They were really interesting to look at and smelled a lot like my kibble. She brought them back to work today but I was OK with that. I guess I might have tried to eat them if they were here longer. I was getting hungry on this diet!

So as far as my diet has done I haven't lost any ounces, but my waddle is a little tighter. Ok, not really. I just can't get a good workout in without doing some roof climbing. I will work on getting the windows open next week.

Well happy mew year and I hope you all get some catnip in 2007!

so lonely!

Hi to my fellow cats,

I'm so lonely! My sister dog and brother dog left this morning. I kept waiting by the door for them to get back. I cried for them but they didn't return. Now my mom and dad have their bags packed. I tried to jump into my mom's suitcase but then she zipped it shut. Darn! Then she put a whole bunch of toys on the floor for me. And filled my water bowl.

Oh well, it is so quiet here. I guess I'll just take a nap and wait for them to come back....

Hi cat pals,

Well, I played with my catnip all yesterday and last night. I curled up on my mom's favorite chair and she had to move me to my bed. I was really confused and tired. I forgot to even eat my food. my dad was shocked. He even had to try to convince me to eat. Well all the food came up this morning on the floor. My dad stepped in it! He was pretty mad and had to get out the carpet cleaner. Whatever that is.

Now I'm taking a break from that bag of catnip and going to sleep next to my sister. She thinks she owns the bed but I don't think so!

diet not going well

I am not happy with this diet. I am only getting breakfast but no dinner! Dad says it's enough to last 2 meals but that's not true. I need much more. So I have been jumping on top of mom to encourage her to feed me. So far, she only gave me some pounce.

Yay! When she got home today I had a new ball of something that smelled really good. And it made me get really excited. Humans call is something like catnip. I like it. My brother Zuki (dog) tried to eat it. I got to hide it now.

It's a snow day. That means all my family is home with me. Now I can pester them (I mean lovingly encourage) them to feed me. My dad has some kind of crazy idea that he can put me on a diet. I mean, I do have a waddle that is down to my knees, but come on! I had so many of my teeth removed I have to eat more. I know that might not make sense to you, but it does to me!

Now that it's winter my family is not even leaving the skylights open so I can't get my usual roof-climbing in. I mean that's a great workout. So I am stuck with forearm workouts on Sienna's (the best dog in the world) chest. I don't understand why she yells at me sometimes. I bet she is just encouraging me to work harder. If only she could help me find me some fish. I mean the good stuff, not that crap in a bag. Then I could go on an Atkins diet.

Well, back to cleaning my waddle, I mean stomach.
